Oh wow. I cannot believe that that is an actual photo with no gimmicks whatsoever. Looks like a perfect fantasy setting. You truly live in a breathtaking place. Speaking of taking breath, can I borrow that pipe of yours, Turk?

At least in American English, if you say "my place", it is unambiguously understood as meaning your home. Not as the town or region in which you live!

Oh, wait. Maybe you meant just that.

I must tell you that I came back here just to take a look at that photo one more time, and I noticed that you had commented. I have to see if I have taken any pictures worth posting from my area.

I disagree that it is "unambiguously understood".

I cannot think of an occasion when I heard my place in similar (syntactic) context used to mean something else. I'd love to see an example!

Obviously (?) I didn't mean that those two words can never occur in succession without meaning home.

Well that is your place then. If you come to my place, you'll stay at my place while I give you a tour of the city and all its sights.

this weekend (and the one before as well) I spent at harvesting olives .. I had in mind once to make a blog about that as well, but I guess that's not as interesting as making wine

    however, here are some pic

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    sunny fields

despite the sun it was still quite cold honestly

few pics of olives on trees

harvested olives.. we managed to harvest 22 crates in total, approx 450 kg, 110 lt of oil

lol, this is a home made cleaner, made with a blower from a broken pellet heater.. we use it to remove leaves and small sticks

and this is how you dirty your hands (that's oil actually, I dunno why the pic is so much "deep field", probably I had some filter activated )

    The olives look delicious.

And the olive trees look like our Orchard meadows with apples, pears, cherries.

    Beautiful december day.

A beautiful day to spent working in the orchard. Reminds me of my days in school. (I did Agricultural Studies, specified in Horticulture) I find it very relaxing when there's no real pressure on it. (That's why I only shortly worked in horticulture. It's no longer fun when there are hard deadlines and no real gains for me personally). Would love to work in your vinyard though

I'm not a good employer... I mean it's not my fault if whipping and slavery have been abolished, but still according to "modern standards" I'm not allowed to them, so ..

I'd take whips if it meant having a steady job. Then maybe one day I will be the one whipping the younger uns.

Oh i should have been more specific, i meant with "our" the local Orchards here, which are often not really cultivated and harvested anymore. Especially those with old apple sorts. If you wanne see brown owls, little owls, buzzards, sparrowhawks, then you must to these wild orchards.

And if you want a basket of natural tasting sweet and sour apples.

Thank you for posting these pictures, and thank you for literally getting your hands dirty producing two of my favorite imports from your beautiful country.

Aside from olive oil and wine, I like olives as such, too. Here up north many olives are sold with the stone removed, a practice that you may find barbaric. It always puzzled me how they get them out of the fruit. Also I find it curious that the oil is not really made from the stone but the fruit part, unlike most oils that are pressed out of the hard seed.
