I like the smell of Old Spice Original. Although Old Spice Captain is a little bit more exciting.

Nice apartment by the way. I like the armchair next to the oven.

Last Sunday (Apr-2), I did a bit of soft mountaineering with some other guys and women.
The hike was from Milies to Tsagkarada.
(Map screenshot and GoogleMaps Link below.)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

In the Church Plaza of the village of Tsagkarada is a 1000 Y.O. plane tree.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The tree is an important enough landmark to be marked in GoogleMaps: Link

And it was the envy of every woman in the group.

Curious: I asked if they envied it's age.

They said something about it being 1000 Y.O. for the last 70 years.

If you liked the images above, here is some mythology and history to go with the region:

The villages of Milies and Tsagarada are in mount Pelion, home place of Endeïs, an Oreiad (mountain nymph), wife of Peleus, the two of them being the parents of the hero Acilles.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The village named Achillio, circled at the bottom of the image is the departure point of Achilles' contingent of Myrmidons as they were going to meet the rest of the Greeks at Aulis, further south, so they would all depart together for Troy.

The orange circle east of Volos marks the position of modern Iolkos, however, ancient Iolkos home of Jason, the hero who led the expedition of the Argonauts to get the Golden Fleece, is believed to have been west of Volos, in the location named Dimini.

A little further west is Sesklo, location of what is believed to be the ruins of the earliest "urban" settlement on the continent of Europe.
(If I am mistaken about that, I am confident sumskilz will provide the fact checking.)

That plaza with the old tree looks like a great place. Less Google maps photos and more of your own stuff, please.

    ...
It is not as big as the photo suggests but it is a very nice place to rest after a 5 hour hike through mountain forests (machetes were needed at a point).

I just wanted to show how densely the geography of the region was packed with both myth and history.

At the time I wasn't thinking of taking too many photos of the hike, especially for uploading here, but I did take a few.

Below is a view of the westernmost Sporades (Skiathos, Skopelos, Allonisos) from the ridge of Pelion, going north.
The view would have been more majestic on a sunny day but this year's winter was somewhat drawn out, though rather mild, even for Greek standards.

Now, I know I came out a little blurry here but it's the best photo of me that I could find.
