CTD when loading sallyout battlemap

I'm playing a Suebian campaign. the town I'm sieging Gawjam. it's about turn 20 or so. I have 11 units vs Gawjam's 8. whenever I load into the battle map (the sallyout), EB CTDs. my graphics settings are the following:

I believe the CTD is related to graphic options.

Late reply, but for posterity, I'll say that EB often doesn't like battles fought during end-turns, especially if a city is involved. You should basically try to avoid that situation happening in your campaign as much as possible, and when it is unavoidable you've just got to hope for good luck that the game won't crash loading into and out of the battle

End-turns would mean autumn, is this right?

Rumor has it that there are easily available 3rd party programs that make EB recognize 4GB memory and another rumor has it that this prevents almost all crashes and makes the game playable. I wouldn't know though, since I wouldn't use any of these scary programs and prefer to have EB crash every 2 minutes.
