That's what happens after reading the forbidden texts. It sucks your life force. Now the courts are also packed by Trump. Including people like Sarah Pitlyk, serving the Eastern District Court of Missouri. Clerked for beer lover Kavanaugh, and has almost zero experience as a judge. Anti-abortion though, so it's okay. Or Lawrence Van Dyke. Thankfully the vast majority of court appointments are "qualified", but are some of the most staunch conservative ideologues in the GOP. So 20 years from now, we may very well see restrictions on business in favor of protecting conservatives. And restrictions on voting rights. And removal of protections for abortion.

So what stops those "democratic" socialists and "progressives" from creating their own political party? Surely, if their ideas are good they'd replace Democrats as main opposition party.

only if you don't understand how the 2 party monopoly works in the United States. But there is a democratic socialist party that is growing. Its a long ways away from being able to run candidates in mainstream elections and get elected though. In fact I would argue that the green party is so ineffective because it focuses on national elections rather than local, which is a mistake the DSA is not making.

however many people that call themselves Democratic socialists have found success in the democratic party, just not nearly enough to actual sway major policy. It seems much more likely that someone going the Bernie Sanders route could change the party from within than successfully run against the 2 party system. Thats just the way it is in the USA. Personally I think America would benefit from a left wing party, a rightwing party, and two centrist parties, one center-left and center-right, but I am not the one profiting from the current state of American politics. Which is in many ways intended to broken for normal working people (back to the oligarchs that decide what to lobby their money on)
