Need help with modding files in terms of which file to mod for my issue

i been editing my ss6.4 with the bugfix comp and somehow chracters that should be dead are alive with a dead portrait walking around in the family tree it says they died in battle in 0 AD not sure what is going on when i delete their entry in dscrt strat file i get a crash what is the file that governs these guys in terms of being dead or alive ?

The bug fix requires you to set the mod to a specific setting via the launcher first before applying it - I guess that's what caused the problem. I suggest to delete the mods\SS6.3 folder and re-install, have a look at my guide on how to proceed.
