Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
Just played the tutorial, runs smooth on my slightly older rig and the handling is very familiar. I used to pour hours into this game as a Batchelor, now as a father I will be taking tasty bites rather than bingeing. The old game scaled well for this sort of play (ie either sitting for four hours on a weekend, or grabbing 45 minutes after work) I'm hopeful this one will too.
while I don't like Erdogan that's nothing to do it's Talewrlds, this company seems to be good corporate citizens and their attitude to modding is excellent.

Maybe be multiple manual saves could help you avoid this trouble next time ?

The most important change is the hard cap limit of 200 denars by day profits for workshop on e1.0.1 and its subsequent removal in favor of a better economical model on e1.0.2.
On release wood workshop made an absurd amount of money. Something like +5k by day. It was totally broken. I have not played e1.0.2 yet so I can not say how good the workshops are now.
I did attempt to use some others workshops on e1.0.1. Most made me bankrupted ... Hopefully the new patch wo'nt make me lose money with the wood workshop I brought in Jaculan.
keyboard controls tips just in case :
- You can change your character physical look anytime in your playthough by pushing "V"
- You can change your clan banner by pushing "B"

As old M&B fan and also modder of Warband, i should get it now, also since it is on my Steam wishlist since announcement. But honestly, i will wait until most bugs are ironed out and the game is complete (i'm also still much busy with another game).
Btw., you guys here don't mention Viking Conquest, a splendid M&B Warband DLC (as Reforged edition)?
Very much recommend it, as it is an upgrade on Warband in so many aspects.
Have done an overhaul mod for that DLC, Viking Conquest Realism (2017), still today works properly, and can just recommend it for historical realism friends.

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming over France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A finished novel, published on TWC.

They released hotfixes for that I believe. It's fun to play, I have 60 hours already. It's not finished and you will get to a point where you feel like you've experienced everything it has to offer, but it's worth playing in its current state. In my opinion, that is :p
Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
Well once you have your own army of 500 soldiers, everything else is just a matter of time - it's not like Crusader Kings where after you solve a crisis 10 others appear.

Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
I've been playing for a few days now and the only thing I've managed to achieve is a squad of 90 warriors. Plus, I had a fight with two kingdoms because I needed food and money. I took up a commonplace robbery and managed to make a good fortune, although I was given a good thrashing a couple of times. I would like to note that the changed combat system makes a good impression. Now you cannot rely only on heavy cavalry, you must have a balanced army with arrows and infantry. At least in some encounters, the enemy's archers destroyed about half of my squad. The trading system is also pleasing. The developers clearly did not aim for you to vegetate in poverty and hunger. In Bannerlord, you are given the opportunity to focus on other goals, although money and food will naturally be at the top of the list of necessities. For example, I took the path of robbery, as I said earlier.I hope that the game will be polished and in the end it will really be a masterpiece.

Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
I had no major issue until now expect the usual small bugs. As a precaution a create a new save once in a while but I never needed to (and I doubt it is of real help tbh).
In fact my main worry is if some patch content do not apply to my 1.0.0 walkthrough. Mainly my character is aging and I can't marry him or even propose to a young lady to quickly mate and ensure the survival of my clan. Right now I am preparing to form my own kingdom after I became lord of Sanala. For reasons I do not understand, my king Derthert hates me a lot.
Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
Derthert is a bit of an ass to be fair. I'm married to Ira in my campaign, you just have to find someone eligible and pass the charm check. Also, I noticed unit orders were a bit confusing, so I wrote this on what they do
Infantry
Advance - Close distance to enemy in formation and start fighting, while in formation
Charge - Run out of formation and start bashing
Fall back - Move back from enemy in formation until told otherwise
Archers
Advance - Move up to shooting distance from the enemy and start blasting, will try to keep their distance should enemy advance
Charge - Send em advancing out of formation, start shooting but stand their ground in melee
Fall back - Run as far away from the enemy as a group until told otherwise
Cavalry
Advance - Sends them trotting towards the enemy in good order, when they reach the line they'll stay put in formation and have a grindfest where they act as line infantry, though they hold their formation and only the units directly in contact with the enemy fights, the rest stay put
Charge - Sends them trotting towards the enemy, charging when close whereupon they will cycle-charge and try not to get stuck in the melee
Fall back - Same as the rest, they move in formation away from the enemy until instructed otherwise
Horse Archers
Advance - They move in formation until in front of the enemy line, where they will blast em with arrows and pull away from the enemy should they advance, but always stay just in front continuing to shoot
Charge - They will run towards the enemy and run in circles around them, evading contact and continuing fire, ala a Cantabrian circle
Fall back - Same as the rest, will pull away from the enemy in formation until instructed otherwise
Notes:
"Fall back" never stops, meaning units will pull back through the red area and thus leave the battle eventuallyIf "fire at will" is on, units will always fire if possible
Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
Need advice and help . My CPU is Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33Ghz ,DDR2 8GB RAM and W7 x64 Ultimate.
I saw the minimum requirements and i was confused about the needed CPU.
Can my old "friend" play this game?
Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
I think it'll struggle - It might just work with a decent enough gpu, but it's going to be on low settings and low framerates most likely, as this game is pretty cpu-intensive. You can always download it and give it a go, and then refund it if it doesn't work out well enough. (Provided you've played for less than 2 hours of course)
If not a full review, perhaps some impressions from people? Things done well, things done badly, important notes for a new person to the game? Might as well help out whatever poor bastard feels like writing for it.
Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Available on Steam 31st of March 2020
You'll actually get two reviews, from me and King Athelstan. Given the current situation I've been playing this game like a madman, so expect a thorough review.
