    Default Mirror for TWC content?

Here's a semitechy issue. I think it's high time we make sure as little of the important data (mods especially) as possible will be lost if TWC at one point shuts down completely. So I wanted to ask you what the appropriate way would be to ensure that?

It's not a bad time for anyone, at the very least, to download/save as many pages/files as possible to be sure.

If everyone just downloads random stuff, then 1) won't we be sure the important stuff got saved (except that it likely didn't), and 2) won't that answer the question as to how we'd make all that information available to everyone again.

Good luck finding the plan to viably create a backup/restore system outside of admin participation in the thread. IIRC, Ged had some sort of side server that things could be put onto, but my recollection is fuzzy and at this juncture that is naturally not the most reassuring thought in the world.

Theres probably a proper way to do it, like archive or wayback machine.

Aside from that, a proper mirror could be possible if the database could be used but normally only people with direct access to it can do that from what little I know about it.

TWC has multiple backups and on different servers. Unless the whole building burns down where GED have placed the servers, it's highly unlikely that TWC will stop working permanently like that.
And if GED decides to pull the plug on it someday due to whatever reason he might sell the site first. In any case mirroring the site is not required.

If I am not mistaken, but aren't archive and the wayback machine the same thing.
