Businesses is already suffering- hospitality for example has been hit hard as people aren't eating out as much - restaurants are having difficulty paying rent to landlords & some have alreay gone under- with many soon to follow.
People already loosing their jobs as some restaurants letting staff go in order to survive. AND we haven't even gone full lock down like Europe
-here there is currently 100 people restriction on indoors gathering with like (2m spacing or something to that extent; going from memory here). If we go full lock-down many small businesses will go under that means many will loose their jobs + roof over their heads as people will not be able to pay their mortgages. This will be worst catastrophe than 1% CFR of COVID-19.

Someone losing their job is bad. Someone losing their life is worse. Besides, what do you imagine will be the economic impact if 1% of the global population dies in one year? WW2 took 6 years to kill 3% of the global population. Spanish flu around the same proportion in 2 years. German customs authorities have blocked the export of a truck filled with 240,000 protective masks to Switzerland, which Swiss authorities have said is part of a broader export ban on protective gear.

German government on Wednesday banned the export of medical protective equipment such as goggles, respiratory masks, protective suits and gloves. France has made a similar order.

I too normally make it a policy not to trust any ethnolinguistic group who can't be bothered to pronounce the consonants at the ends of their words, but they seem to be redeeming themselves with these chloroquine trials.

Politicians shouldn't get credit for accomplishments of medical professionals. Especially those politicians that helped spread the pandemic by idiotic policies of open borders.

Or vice versa, but yes, this will inevitably need to happen if/when those states start imposing restrictions on people. Otherwise, people near state borders might get tempted to travel more than they would otherwise do contributing to the spread of the virus. This is why the Dutch-Belgian border was closed, for instance.

On the other hand, if one truely believes the crisis vindicates nationalism, those borders should remain wide open. They're not national borders after all, and you're all americans on either side of state lines. Is that not so, HH?
