Dinner thread

My cooking starts to become repetitive and I'm getting sad, let's share breakfastyour dinner and ideas (recipes esp cocktails are welcome).

I'll start:

Simple fish soup with rice

browned ginger and garlic, some frozen white fish and frozen mussels in boiled water with fish stock, pepper and parsley. Both fish and mussels taste much better this time with no lid and just simmered for half a hour (lid seems to cause them dried fast, maybe the steam?).

Basmati rice cooked in microwave, 2.5x water, more like chazuke rice than congee.

No alcohol today, only condensed milk with "gold" instant coffee (sour and bitter , should have doubled sugar). Need to grab some cheap whisky instead of using the overpriced smokey kind for cocktail...

My breakfast:
Slice of bread
Some butter
Slice of brown cheese

None of this is pre-cut of course, use a bread knife for bread and a cheese slicer for the cheese

I have never seen non-precut bread in asia. Why don't everyone just cut bread first and sell later? same for cheese...

For breakfast I make coffee in a french press, drink 1-2 cups depending on how much time I have. I make myself 500ml worth of "smoothie" consisting of oatmeal, a banana, a small hint of vanilla sugar, some berries, spinach, ginger, orange juice and soy milk. It's not much of a smoothie because it's so thick I eat it more than I drink it. I also make myself 2-3 perfectly cooked eggs, and sometimes some black bread with either cheese or salmon. I have a large variety of cheeses which I cannot all list here. Apart from the eggs I don't eat/drink everything, but take the rest with me so that I can last through the first half of the day.

Nobody should be allowed to eat seafood for breakfast, AqD, and if I was dictator of the world I'd have you arrested for it. The only exception I would allow would be salmon for eating stuff like salmon lox. As for what I ate for breakfast today, some homemade banana nut bread from the night before and a bowl of cereal. Take that, you seafood heretic!

You guys make me even more depressed! How can you wake up without the smell of some roasted meat, seafood, or whisky?! Why do you even want to wake up?

@cookiegod devil eggs? and cheese combinations please! I tried steaming eggs it's quite difficult, took forever to make and shell broke.

No I steam them. ~1cm of water in a pot with a lid, make it boil, put the eggs there, after ~5:30min (6 if they're big) they should be ready.
To avoid shells breaking, just poke a little hole in the shell before putting them in the water.

I don't eat breakfast. I eat only one meal per day (at dinner).

Yeah I don't have breakfast when I get up anymore, I have some bread with cheese at work around 2 hours into work(10:30 ish). I'd still feel hungry around then even when I had some cereal before so I just cut it out.

Breakfast makes your body crash by around 11 to 12, especially if it contained sugar, which breakfasts usually do. This creates an obscene craving for lunch. If you skip breakfast, then your craving for lunch lessens.
