If people defend rapists and murderers should I just refrain from having and expressing a strong opinion about how deplorable it is to defend such people? Left is no Einstein, right is no Trump. Nobody suggests that. What I point at is how degenerative Trump and Republicans have been to the society in general. People get triggered by that. So I kept asking for the alternative approach that Sar1n suggested to be in existence.
The only longterm solution for US is to abandon two-party politics in favor of multi-party democracy. I wrote that in this thread before, you could just read....

But in short term, democrats need to recognize their own failures that led to Trump's rise, and how the panicked reaction every time he breathes does nothing but help him.

Abandoning a two-party setting is a lovely idea. I'm all for that, but that doesn't address the issue at hand. Moreover, such a setting doesn't mean you automatically avoid a division in the public.

Democrat's own efforts to undermine their own position doesn't really address it either. Even when they do the right things they could easily be dismissed away with similar conduct that we see today.

It is true because Trump won. Trump's victory is a sign that working class and public in general became smarter and learned critical thinking skills to see beyond "orange man bad" screeching from mass media to create their own opinions and vote for a lesser evil, to say the least.
I mean you can continue with "people are dumb for not electing another establishment dud" narrative, but it won't do you any favors if you want to convince everyone that it is true.

Oh, this is smart. You argue that people are getting smarter because they voted for Trump (of course, ignoring the fact that less people voted for Trump). Basically anyone disagrees automatically makes everyone dumb.

    Another good one.
Just 2 months after Trump said his farewells to Beto in his own unique style, he had another hilarious tweet as parting words for Booker.

Man, the PotUS is hilarious. A butthole, but hilarious.

It's so sad that we can't see a televised discussion between Silvio Berlusconi (the ultimate hilarious politician) and Trump talking about women, progressives, German "Nazi" EuroMPs etc.
That would have been an epic show that would reach a billion views in youtube within a week.

I don't really see what's so funny, alhoon. This guy is supposed to be the president, not a clown.

There's people who support Trump in spite of his tweets, but I'm really curious about the psychology of those who support him because of his tweets.

Why are you telling me? Tell him that... he is probably not aware.

Many of us are not USA citizens, so ...
We are here for the laughs same as we were with Silvio, the awesome. Silvio was funnier and far less dangerous (since he didn't have a nuclear arsenal and command over an army spread all over the world). Trump delivers much more often. It's a question if you want quality of jokes (Silvio) over quantity of jokes (Trump).

If you want a person you could trust that would take the right decision (or at least not a bad decision) then you're looking at the wrong people.
If you want the gravitas of a person that significantly affects the future of a whole nation with millions of people, again, you're looking at the wrong people.
If you want a person that would act as an example and would be respectful (or at least not very rude), as before, you're looking at the wrong people.
Perhaps you would be satisfied with a person that would not make a move on your wife? Nope, again, you're looking at the wrong people.

However if you're looking for people that would pettily boo fallen competitors that were never an actual threat, or someone that would ask a German EuroMP whether he worked in a concentration camp, or someone that would brag that one thing he has in common with his daughter is that they both enjoy sex, or someone that go on camera giving the finger to his political enemies, or someone that would call a nuclear-armed tyrant -that he later befriended- little rocket man...
then yes, these are what you're looking for!

May have something to do with opposition to Trump promoting things like pedophilia, leftist extremism, foreign wars and treating country's working class like medieval serfs, in light of which mean tweets are simply a lesser evil.

There's never a reason to do any evil, lesser or otherwise. I'm sure it's possible to fight pedophilia without making a mockery of the presidency.

Because mean tweets aren't evil? I see far more problem with US assassinating a foreign official who was instrumental in defeating ISIS, then with some tweets. And if anything, presidency was mocked by Trump's last several predecessors who used it to commit de-facto war crimes.

I can only quote Christianity Today's recent editorial:

His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.
His tweets have done nothing but divide America and degrade the prestige of the presidency. This isn't "fighting", it's just plain trashy.

Hopefully this experience has acted as a ‘purge’ term for American voters, now they’ve put their hand grenade in the White House it’s time to start over.

I doubt it. The Trump supporters have been told people like myself are not only their enemy, we are the very embodiment of evil and personally responsible for every one of their failures and frustrations. They aren't just going to stop believing that once Trump is out of office.

    10/10 for projection.

Well, Trump's support has fallen back to the usual 41%-42% after the bump it got when he was impeached. Yes, Trump being impeached sent him to near-record heights.
So, since Trump being impeached bumped his numbers, I don't think that the people that stood with him for so long would change sides.

Let's be honest here, after decades of neoliberal/neocon rule and "world policeman" foreign policy, American presidency and image of USA worldwide have been degraded more then a washed up pornstar, so complaints about Trump's tweets are nothing but Democrat pearl clutching.

It is certainly true that style/attitude is overvalued by comparison to substance. This is one of, if not the most important reason why Pres. Obama's administration is so wildly overrated.

I like how Trump's opponents are now allegedly "promoting paedophilia". While in the real world, Trump was friends with Epstein.

In the real world Trump cut ties with Epstein when he found out who was he dealing with. Very "pedophobic", as members of anti-Trump "resistance" would frame it.
It seems actual friendship with Epstein was more of a liberal/left thing, at least judging by the beliefs of people who were known to fly "lolita express" and to visit Epstein's island.
