Extreme lag spikes / unit stuttering in battle

Hi guys,

I played DEI 2 years ago on the same PC as I am using now. It worked perfectly. I never had any problems.

I installed it again today but the game is pretty much unplayable. In battle, it appears the units move in a very laggy sort of slow motion.

I absolutely loved DEI so i really want to try it again. Any suggestion what I can do ?

I tried to set the graphic option to low but even this didn't work.

I have a GTX970.

Welcome back, they updated the graphics a year and something ago

if you have low specs (and/or not interested into graphic like me) do the following:

- follow points 1-2-9 here https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...DEI-experience
- play on medium unit size
- lower the screen resolution
- put this pack, is a lowering graphics compilation (100% compatible with anything)

A) Put the chosed packs into the data folder (..\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II\data)
B) Remember to revert to the old manager: Go to Rome 2 on STEAM/Right click/Properties/Betas/Select the beta you would like to use/launcher_release_canditate.
C) Start Rome II
D) In Mod Manger, check "Enable Out of Date Mods"
E) Make sure all chosed packs are checked green. Their load order should be ok. It is given by the number of @, the more they are the more previous the mod is loaded/must be loaded
F) Play
