Arriving outside of Laodicea, Guy orders a camp established outside of the village of Al-Qanja along with foraging parties being sent out to gather food and timber for the construction of siege engines. Several small scouting parties are sent to survey the surrounding area for any potential enemy activity. The commander and his retinue ride ahead to a hill to survey the city and it's surroundings while the men begin to carry out their tasks.
