    Default Midsommar for dummies.

I have seen it and I have not understood it. could someone explain it to me? (It is about revenge? Mourning? How?)

I know CNN has a "First time visting Sweden" guide and at the bottom is a summary what midsummer means to the people in Sweden.

I should have clarified that I was referring to the movie (maybe not as popular as I thought)

I see. I haven't heard of that movie until you mentioned it.

Anyway, the links I posted are still relevant.

Its mostly just an eerie horror movie, with similar intent as the Wicker Man really, based upon neopagan rituals, I saw the movie recently and thought it rather odd.

I had the impression that it could not only be a scary movie, I also read vague references in film reviews to the topics I mentioned in the op (mourning, revenge, how to face a break). That said, maybe when I saw the movie I missed some of this (subtext is called?) because the director really didn't get his goal.
