Starting positions for the Krákafolk, a new culture which will be introduced in the Heir of Geta Update. In the mod, the Krákafolk are the ancestors of the Dunlendings known from the Third Age. Their playable faction will be the Kingdom of Krákaland.

Wonderfull job. Question. If you can transform a horse to a wolf why can't you replace the aufull Shogun II horses with ones from Rome II or Three Kingdoms? Such wonderfull warriors models deserve better horses as well.

Idk why people have so much problems towards Shogun 2 horses xD These from Rome II not looks much better, so we decided there's no too much sense to put effort in rescaling and rigging them to Shogun 2 skeleton.

The Krákafolk are a warrior people who have spent many years improving their craft of warfare and who make constant raids into Númenorean and Elven lands. Years ago, the mysterious Lord of Gifts shared his knowledge about metallurgy with them so that they could help him in his wars. Over the years, the Krákafolk expanded the knowledge they acquired then, and improved in fighting against a more technologically superior opponent. In battle, they were especially fond of using unconventional curved swords, which were better suited than others to pierce solid armor.

For those who don't follow the Discord server. During January and February, I had big problems with the modding tools and Shogun itself caused by Windows 10. Just at the beginning of March, I solved these problems and was able to fully focus on working on the mod again.

Snow is cool, but cold is bad (even in Poland, where isn't so cold like in Norway) and I feel very bad by most of winter ;-;

Although the Krákafolk people are fond of fighting on foot, the open spaces in their lands favor the use of cavalry. This led to forming groups of horsemen who were at the forefront of the Krákafolk's looting expeditions. Although originally they did not different in equipment from their companions, in recent years the warlords have recognized their potential, especially in battles against riders from the other side of Great River. So they received better equipment and now represent a kind of elite among the looting bands of the Krákafolk.

Less than 100 years before Veteri the Restorer ascended to the throne in 3242 of the Second Age, the Kingdom of Krákaland disintegrated into warring clans, and shortly afterwards the ruler of the Geta dynasty was assassinated, beginning a period of interregnum.
One of the reasons for the downfall was the defeat near the Mouths of Entwash, where the Númenoreans, along with allies from beyond the White Mountains, smashed Krákaland's leading forces, which broke the fighting spirit of the folk.
Veteri realized that if he wanted to reclaim and hold his kingdom then he can no longer rely on tribal army structures. He started forming professional troops, disciplined and well-armed, which were to form the main strength of a restored Krákaland.
The warriors who joined these forces took his name as the name of their formations and proudly bear it even after his death, when under the command of his son, Erik II, they continue the war against the rebellious clans.

This is part of the mod's lore, which we wrote based on around three words which Tolkien wrote about people lived in Calenardhon in Second Age.

Impressive work! It sounds like you're influenced by the history and culture of factions when creating their units, as well as the landscape they live in - for example open spaces favouring the use of cavalry, and the development of a professional army after a defeat.

Thanks! Yeah, we thoroughly discuss what we want a particular culture to look like and what we want their history to be like, and then based on that we start planning the combat style and units. Also we use a lot of real history references - Luiza Aris in our team is person who has largest history knowledge and she do a lot of research while work.

The most promising of the Krákafolk warriors can count on the Warmasters to select them for the Crowsguard, a group of warriors who can earn the most respect. Some of them serve as guards of their commanders, but they can often be seen in separate groups, where, usually armed with massive hammers, they tirelessly sow terror among their enemies.
After Veteri's reforms, their role has not diminished. True, they were no longer the only elite formation in the ranks of Krákaland, but they held their position and continued to have an important role in the battles afterward, where they crushed the ranks of enemies with their brutal force.

Many tribes under Sauron's influence worshiped him as a god, and this was similarly the case of the Krákafolk. Of the many Krákafolk's cults, the Witches living among the hills in the east of Calenardhon gained the most power and influence. Years ago they made a pact with the rulers of Krákaland thus getting a free hand in spreading their faith among the tribes to the coast of Enedwaith. They began to practically govern the country, at the same time providing the monarchs with a host of fanatical warriors who could support them in their pillaging wars. With constant contact with the Lord of Gifts, they kept an eye on the Annatar cult to ensure that it never weakened in these lands, and any opposition was brutally suppressed.

The Witches often appeared personally on battlefields, frightening others into battle. They have trained themselves to fight with large swords, which work well both as weapons and as an executioner's tool when the Witches sacrifice captives after a battle.

The personal army of the Great Witch of the Visions Hill. Not as disciplined and trained as the formations created by the Veteri, but fanatically devoted, ready to protect the Witches through their own bodies.

This is a local unit, will be available to recruit in Sýnarhváll (where it will also be possible to recruit Witches).

The fall of the old kingdom lit the fires of disunity and civil wars among the People of the Crows. Ahh the Great Interregnum, a period of blood and iron, to this day entire battlefields can be found hidden among the hills. Suffering and fanaticism knew no end, blood poured like a river amidst the ruins of the kingdom. But the anvil of blood and fire gave a spark of fighting spirit that cast a shadow over the White Mountains. In the midst of the darkness of the great war, the last veterans of the murdered king's army ascended to the battlefields, sowing terror and winning glory for their chiefs. In time, in their footsteps, the most remarkable of Krákafolk's sons and daughters began to gather into heavy armed bands and fight for loot, glory and the favor of their god. As the decades passed, newcomers repaired their armor and dressed them with distinctive archaic helmets to now fight on the fields of Calenardhon, no longer for loot, but for their clan. Most of the successors of the former veterans have sided with Veteri the Restorer. Not joining his professional army, but becoming an honorable unit, the sword and shield of the King, which will pave the way to the rebirth of the kingdom and a new golden era for the People of the Crows.

Kynstrith Veterans will be a limited unit, each infantry barracks chain will give you access to two such units.

Helmet worn by the Krákafolk Warmasters. Krákafolk monarchs select the most capable and trusted as commanders, who are an extension of the ruler's will. The helmets of the Warmasters are adorned with a statue of a crow, which is considered a sacred animal and is a symbol of power among this people. No one can raise a hand against the person who wears this helmet.
