My Apology About The Recent Events

It has been possibly the worst crisis ever on totalwarcenter, possibly worse than the hacker attack back in the winter of 2004.

I will not repost of what has happened and how, anyone who were here pretty much know what happened. Be a judge and reconstruct your own experience about the recent events.

Definetely there are always more than one side of each story and some of you know more or less, depending on how much time you spend here or if you ever had a chance talking to me on the messenger.

Since this is an apology, I would like to apologize one more time to the most effected members, since they lost their posts with their user accounts and had to make new ones from scratch.

Gigagaia and Ian (Imb39)

Your loss of your accounts came from both, trigger happy behavior and I found Imb to be the most influental member of all. Giga- ... /borat/not so much./borat/

I would also like to apologize to the ones who were restricted of making posts and or either ended up on the banned list by either me or any of the moderators.


I would like to apologize to the community, who were just watching and witnessing what was going on, and perhaps felt threatened or found it uncomfortable to be on the forums.

I would like to apologize to the moderators, who were newly elected and their election didn't last as long as they might have planned so.

And finally I would like to apologize to Ogresnet, for being in such a mess and creating a very concerning situation to the most popular forum of theirs.

Since most people think I am the most anti-curia person ever been on this board, I found it to be the most appropriate to post it in here.

Thank you and I wish the best for the re-promoted staff and the new owner of the site! I hope the place will prosper and live on. If it can survive such a situation like the recent, I have no fear that this place will easily fly through any obstacles put against, thanks to Its rock-hard community.

Archer, well, you and I have had occasional differences. You know exactly my thoughts on this matter. I am not bitter, just disappointed in the way this has developed.

There is one thing I do know about you, Archer, and that is that you do have the Community in mind. I have acted foolishly over the last week, like others. I would hope everyone would use the example you are, typically, demonstrating the way forward for all of us.

Thank you for your work over the past couple of years. Everyone should be mindful that Archer has been very beneficial for the site - perhaps more beneficial than many of us really know.

No one knows the full story and it would be foolish for people to think ill of others, if only on that basis.

As to those who volunteered as moderators - it is hard to moderate in calm times, to do so in the atmosphere over the last week takes a lot of fibre. I hold absolutely no ill will to anyone. I remind them, and everyone else too, that we are a community.

Everyone of the spammers and rioters acted immaturely and pathetically and should have been banned. Apologizing to them is certainly not gesture I can agree with. Members like JP who spammed the board with god knows how many accounts are the members who I have lost all respect for. Here I was for days lambasted for my so called ToS breaking character and now members who acted like little children spamming web addresses, making spam posts, and misleading topics, spamming threads made by other users are back to their moderating positions. I am truly disgusted by the actions of many of the current staff yesterday. You most definitely have something to be proud of...

That smacks a wee bit of revisionism. Or did you forget that dozens of members were globally silenced/squelched without recourse or explanation prior to the dup accounts being made? Do you forget that legitimate threads asking questions or making comments were deleted?

No it does not, but it explains why many members did act like they did. I acted immaturely several times over the past few days, but i was banned, unbanned, put on global ignore, taken off global ignore, put back on global ignore and taken off it again. It's enough to push some people over the edge.

I don't think thats a valid excuse. The same thing happened to members like Fab and Simetrical... I didn't see them acting like 2 year olds yesterday spamming threads. Everything that occured yesterday, bans and ignores were all justified by the actions of the people that received them. Everyone that was banned or put on global ignore was participating in the riot. To me, trying to say you were justified is mighty hypocritical, especially when I look at how I was treated. The things people have said about me the last few days, and I don't mean that whole I shouldn't moderate thread, I mean being called stuff like a "spineless :wub:er" and what not for nothing more than trying to keep the peace. The hypocrisy and the double standards imposed by the rioters is, imo, disgusting.

It's generally true that when those who have power use it arbitrarily, without moderation and without justice, those who don't have power are no longer willing to accept the state of affairs. Rules, such as they are, begin to lose their lustre and their sway when those tasked with upholding them become keen to violate them. The general rule with rules is a quid pro quo: you uphold your end, I'll uphold mine. At the end of the day, moral superiority is a less worthy goal than survival and success.

To tell you the truth, there were many members that were banned for no reason whatsoever. I was one of them. I did not spam, troll or flame. And what do I get? The banhammer.
