So I have translated all the text in the files, but cannot get them to work in the newest version of VK, I can send them to you to see what's wrong.

Installation method - unpack the archive into the mod folder with the replacement of files, the campaign can be continued.
Changes:
- changes have affected the main faction of the Swabians, the starting lineups of troops have been changed and from this patch the lines of the landsknechts do not overlap with the Schwabs and Austria, now each of these factions recruits its own squads of landsknechts. A player who wants to play for the Swabian faction must delete the map.rwm file and start the campaign again in order for all changes for this faction to take effect.
- added a new model for Carthaun's gun.
- all units with the "wall of spears or phalanx" trait will now move only with the "wall of spears or phalanx" enabled, halberdiers and pikemen should not run across the battlefield but should only walk in formation.
3.0 version is needed.

Furthermore, is this supposed to be installed on top of the Italian Wars original mod from this thread?

You are confusing mods. The version 5 is of Aneirin's initial Italian Wars mod. This thread is about the Italian Wars mod which was created by LEZVIE but was initially based on Aneirin's mod and which is no longer available to the public outside of the Russian imtw forums.

Sort of. I am aware they are different authors, but this is still the Italian Wars fori, so assuming that like myself others might just be interested in the Italian wars. As for the Russian forums you can't get it there either, the author has withdrawn it, only available for a limited few who helped and contributed. Apparently
