    Men at arms screeshots.

The generic one have clothes in their recruiting faction colour, but a bit darker. They have a generic small shields.
The heraldic unit have clothes in their region of origin, with slightly brighter colours. And their small shields show the coat of arms of their dukedom.

Here is a comparison for Bretonnia generic unit (above), and Couronne heraldic units (below).

For the knights, I want to use a different approach from what is usually done. The Brettonian knights don't really have a uniform, but they use random colour and heraldic shields (from 16 possible choices). It is interesting to have this feeling of knights coming from different noble families, but it's too much, they don't have any unity, and there's no difference from one faction to the other, since they don't really have faction coloured parts.

So I want to use something different.

The knights willl still use random colour and heraldic shields from a pool, but instead of a global pool, it's a pool specifiic to each Dukedom.

Here is an example with Couronne

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Heraldry of Louen of Couronne

    Earl Adalbert

    Brocard

    Suidbert

    Cheldric the Brave

    Baron Thegan

    Philibert the Loon

Moreover, the horse barding colours are also random, and they match the knights shields and coat colours.

And they have different patterns, depending on the type of knights.

For the Knights errants above, it's simple alternate colours (sometime left/right, sometime front/back, or quartered) + an occasional cross.

More patterns tomorrow with other types of knights.

Here are the final barding patterns for the knight Errants. Each type of knights will have 5 different patterns (combined with 8 heraldic colours for each dukedom for a total of 40 different horse barding for each units, if you count 4 types of knights, that's 160 different barding for each dukedom, and with 14 dukedom, 2240 in total!)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Double-quartered

Quartered (front/back and right/left in alternate colours)

    Bicolor left-right

    Bicolor top-bottom

    Bicolor front-back

I wasn't completly happy with some of the knights, so here are new updates.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

For the Knight Errants, I removed the head armor for the horse, to only have the clothes

I redid the fleur de lys for the Questing Knights, and added some to the little shields on the side of the horse head.

For the Knights of the Realms, added Lion on the head armor of the horse, and little shields on the side.

And for Grail Knights, I changed the saddle cloth, and modified a bit the fleur de lys on head armor of horse+grail on the small shields on the side

    And now the Grail Guardians!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

They have a sword instead of the lance, and larger shield.

They have a cape, like the Grail Knights, but this one is white with golden or ducal colord fley de lys

They have golden head armor for the horse with silver fleur de lys (opposite from Grail Knights)

The rear part of the barding bears the same heraldic symbols as the Grail Knights, but the front is white with golden fleur de lys or grail related heraldry.

Here are some sampe of combination of heraldic symbol and colours, all for Couronne.

Previous screenshots were for the Heraldic Knights, recruitable only in a specific region (the samples where all for Couronne).

Now I show previews of the generic units, weaker, but recruitable in any region.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    As a general rule:
    - They don't have the heraldic colours or shield heraldry, specific to a region or a faction, but a mix of colours/heraldic symbol from different regions (and usually a minor heraldry, not the main one).
    - Their colours are not so bright as the heraldic knights.

Knights Errants. Simple horse barding, and ljust colours on the shields

And the have a plain armour with little decoration, and a helmet with no headband.

Knights of the Realms have a simple quartered horse cloths, but have some heraldry on their shields from minor houses. They don't have a crest, nor the cloths at the back of the head.

Questing knights have duller colour, and don't have the engraved fleur de lys.

Grail knights have silver crest and heraldry, instead of Golden, and a simple white cape

Grail Guardians have a golden Creast, but simple white cape, silver heraldry on shield. The front of the horse barding is white, without the golden fleur de lys.

Foot knights. You may not most of them have swords, but a few have a mace or an hammer.
They don't have the crest of the mounted knights.

    Trebuchets

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Generic standard trebuchet. They have wood beam, and you can notice here with Artois that they have some faction colour (contrary to vanilla where the small shields are always red/blue

Generic blessed trebuchet. Same faction coloured small parts, with bleached wood.

Heraldic standard trebuchet. Some beams are painted to the faction colour.

Heraldic blessed trebuchet, also with faction coloured beams.

And with this all the different types of Bretonian units are done.

I will start working on the icons and portholes for the Knigths, and do all the heraldic shields and knights of the realm bardings. Only Couronne is done for the moment.
