Bernie Warren is a bad ticket purely because it would remove a super powerful player from the senate in exchange for having a VP which, while liked, doesn't really do that much in actuality. That being said, the office of the Vice President can technically do whatever the President can do so long as he's granted those same powers by the President, so I would be interested in seeing a Bernie/Warren ticket where the position of the Vice President has a lot more actual legislative and administrative power than just being the tie breaker in the senate (Looking at you Pence).

Spending his life on government dime? You mean having a job with the federal government? "Abolishing corporations" is not the same as supporting current anti-trust laws that are already in place. An 80%income tax on the highest tax bracket, not on everyone. If you have any understanding of how income tax works (and you clearly don't) you would know that almost no one would be effected by that bracket, and those who would be wouldn't even notice. The income tax rate has been as high as 90% before and it has never done anything but help our economy. Only when the income tax rate was lowered by over half did we start to see the growth of the lower class and the erosion of the middle class.

First I would like you sources and percentages.

aside from that i would point out americas demographics are changing as well as the nature of the job market. Flooding the country with cheap labour as well as outsourcing jobs has an impact on the quality and pay of professional jobs that remain in the country. I would also point out to major changes such as the collapse of the family unit, which funny enough correlates to the expansion of the welfare state in the 60s and 70s. Instead you look to the decrease of unbelievable taxation in the 80s and revival of the american economy as somehow being the cause despite the trends occuring far earlier.



Regarding the 50s "golden era" of taxation , I would point out at the time tax loopholes were far far more extensive than they are now as well as america gained ground as one of the few untouched areas in the industrial world that got out of ww2. With unbelievable deficit spending and payments that would eventually be covered by a recovered european economy.
