Default Province & Region Management.. what is your method?

From just acquiring one region to the whole province through combat, then building up all the buildings and slots... what is your method?

Do you specialize per province or region? Or is it cookie cutter based?

Top tier economic potential provinces: Latium, Aegyptos, Asia, Africa
Second tier economic potential provinces: Syria, Mesopotamia, Thrace, Hispania, Bythnia et Pontus, Baktria, Galia

If you have one or two of the first tier, spec those for commerce and income. Don’t bother trying to make money elsewhere. Instead, focus on food, libraries, and trade resources. Or military. Unless you’re playing as Rome, military province should start with your culture for population reasons.

Good trade provinces (low income but high resource value) : Thrace, Hispania, Parsa, Judea, Galia, Arabia Felix. These are good provinces to max trade resources and can make some money if needed, but best otherwise. I leave taxes off on these.

Good military provinces: Thrace, Galatia, Hispania, Italia, Parthia. This is mostly dependent on your culture, but also benefits include 4 regions, military resources, good AOR units, and low income potential. Likewise taxes off.

Everything else dedicate to food and libraries. That means do not develop the main city chain past level 1 or 2 at most.

When building an economic province, focus on the main building chains first both for economy and growth. Next priority is slave trader as 90% slave population is the single strongest influence on economy. Then resource industrial buildings on the commercial income branch. Use generals and political intrigue host games to maintain public order.
