Errors at the very first start of M2TW reported in the "system.log" file

Hello everyone!

I really enjoy Total War Games set in Ancient Roman period, and this is the main reason I've installed M2TW. I did everything needed before beginning the installation process of EBII, included using the LAA on medieval.exe.

However, I wanted to play M2TW a little bit before modding it to Europa Barbarorum 2.

I noticed that M2TW has its own "System.log" file, and after the very first start I checked the "System.log" file and this is what's written inside of it:

I have installed M2TW on a different disk partition ( I had only the C: partition on my SSD Hard Disk, I read that it's better not to install Steam games into Programs(x86) directory).
The install path is: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War

I'm asking you if this is normal because I'll be very disappointed if EB II won't work because of CTDs that I heard to happen commonly. That is I am afraid to encounter issues playing EB II due to M2TW related problems that can be fixed preventively.
I've already encountered apparently unsolvable issues with EB I for Rome: Total War (CTDs after several turn before/after a huge battle), so please, help me play at least this mod

Your log is pretty standard - nearly all of it is a left over from RTW, like the RUM or TGA.DDS missing files. M2TW only uses TGA graphics but can also use the DDS.TGA format, RUM must be an old RTW format, hence why it's looking for those.

Should you encounter problems installing\playing EBII then it will be best to post those in their forum.

Gigantus... I am trying to play this game on my desktop but when I start the game it would load for a couple of seconds and then the screen goes black but I can still hear the sound. I uninstall and reinstall the game and had changed. Any ideas on what I can do to fix it?

Are you using a TV as monitor?

nope! Just a normal desktop and monitor. It won't allow me to see the screen since it went black. Idk what I did but I can't see anything but I can hear the game going. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

I will let you know how it goes. My mod TLR 2.4.3 loads then ctd. Any ideas on I can fix the problem?

You seem to have this problem with several mods - I am starting to think it's something basic on your side, like an outdated driver, something with the main CFG file...

Did you do the compatibility exercise with all the options I mentioned?
Try also removing the CFG file from the game's root folder - it will regenerate at the next start.

Idk what else to do. My cfg file is fine. Still having the same problem. I need expert help on this problem bc I am starting to lose my mind over this problem. You seem very skilled at this problem. Please pm about the steps on how I can fix this promblem.

You are not helping - please report back on the steps I suggested, so I know if you have followed them.

1. Does the 'black screen with sound' problem happen with the original game?
2. Have you follow this instruction and the additional one?
3. Did you remove the CFG file and start a new game? Did the CFG file generate again?

To answer the first question... yes to answer the second question... yes... third question... should I really delete the cfg file? wouldn't it make it worse?

It will generate a fresh file with the default settings in case a mod has changed something. Simply move the file onto your desktop and then start the game.

I saw your comment in KotS - (1.) does that mod work for you or do you have the same problem?

In fact: (2.) can you run the basic\unmodded game?

To be honest this is the first time I have come across a problem like this with M2TW. Something about the game's drivers perhaps?

The sound works but I still have a black screen. I wish i can show u it. Idk what else to try. The problem started right after I downloaded the westeros total war.
