How do you figure that? That is why its called center because its in the midway point of right and left...ie shares some beliefs from each or have more moderate stance. The choices are very limited, hell here in the US most people arent right or left they are center/moderates.

I think the "bounding of debate" is a powerful tool in the propaganda model.
It internalizes these bounds inside each person as finite bounds, thus limiting the scope of what is conceived to be possible to debate. Mostly at a subconscious level.

Labels are regularly exploited and abused, and I think we have to take each issue as they come up.

I agree with Mango. That is why, even if I was a U.S. citizen, I would not register for a party. Though I am left-leaning, I refuse to simplify my political opinions to just one label.
I suggest making a 0-10 scale, where 0 is Uber Conservative and 10 is unswervingly left.
