Thank you for all this great documentation. Maybe the creators of Magyar mod will agree to share their units?

Heavy Cavalry / Knights -XV.th century:
The main armour type was the German gothic, but rare the Italian styled gothic armour appear to. The secondary weapons was the straight sword, heavy gothic sabre or mace. The shield usage was rare, but few person wear small hand pavise. The wealthier ones has used some horse armour.

Willingly!
The creators of Magyar mod never released their cavalry models. Just they shared some pictures about them almost nine years ago. Since then, the two-person modder team has not worked together. I downloaded the public pictures from an old Hungarian language forum, which no longer works. The Magyar Mod cavalry models based on historical sources, so they are very historical looking. In my opinion the pictures are usable as source pictures for modelling.

Heavy Cavalry / Knights ~1500 ~1530.:
The german style gothic armour still popular. But used some of maximiliam type armour too. These cavalry units are not as armored as Western European heavy cavalry. The full horse armour are rare.
Mounted standard- bearers in 1526.:
King's bodyguard after ~1500:

Peasant Horse Archers (Militia Portalis) - XV.th century:
Bad quality light cavalry, a new unit raised historically by king Sigismund. Not wore armour. Their secondary weapons the straight one-handed sword.
Mounted Crossbowmen:
First known appearance in 1238., in the late era they representing the czech light cavalry used constantly by the hungarian kings and governors.
Light Lancers (like mounted sergeants):
Medium cavalry. Some of them should wear sallet helmet, and sallet with bevor to (I read that in King Mathias order). The croatians are much number in this unit type.

Woow good images and information about hungarians! And about infantry and "on foot soldiers", do you have also information? Is it true that hungarians used a "line infantry" with spears and pavise shields?

Hussars ~1430~1530:
Light lancer cavalry. Fast horse, good stamina, hide in forest, good morale. Not much staying power after the charge. The armour is rare, but someones wear chain-mail and conical helmet with iron nose guard stick. In early times serbians and hungarians fighting together in this unit. In the later times mainly hungarians figting in this unit.

I don't want to disappoint, but I don't think I'll ever go so far as to remake the 15th / 16th century units.
Two reasons:
- I already have too much work for the 12th and 13th century
- I have never managed to play beyond 1300 yet
But of course, others than me might have the courage to tackle it.
The medieval Hungarian warfare was based on cavalry. The Infantry was not so significant, and I haven't a lot of information about them. You can read some information about infantry units in the Magyar Mods's unit cards detailed description.
In my opinion they are not typical "line infantry".-If I understand your question exactly.
In the army of King Mathias the infantry units fought in a complex defensive round formation. The "pavise spearmen" (with spear, halberd, awl pike) made a shieldwall in the outer ring. Behind them was the second line of heavy armored infantry. Behind them was the gunner and crossbow shooters. And behind them, in the middle of the formation was the light infantry, which attack if the enemy is withdraw. And they can going back to the formation if they felt danger. This formation will can blocking the attack of enemy cavalry or infantry until the heavy cavalry is preparing for an attack again- and again behind them.
Sorry, I can't explain difficult things with my bad english.
If you are interested in medieval Hungarian military history, I recommend an english language book. You can download it in this page: https://vk.com/wall-52136985_24372

I really love the black armor that the royal banderium uses and I thought it would be cool if more of the late hungarian units used black plate armor. Just a small visual change i feel would make the hungarians much more distinguished in the very late game.
Can I get screenshot(s) about the full Carpathian Basin from upcoming SSHIP098 campaign map?
I looked a partial picture ( in this topic: https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...CHANGES-by-JoC ), and I found some mistakes.
I can help to You with informations for a more historical Hungarian Kingdom campaign map.
(I'm hungarian. My english is not so good. Sorry.)
The map is as it was before.
Unfortunately, we don't have a mapper at this moment and we don't do thorough changes - other than changing the borders of the provinces, or placement of the resources or settlements.
@szkelkun: do you happen to know if the Medieval spelling was Piroska or Piriska? And if the name Borbala was used at that time?

If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.

Reviews of the mods (all made in 2018): SSHIP, Wrath of the Norsemen, Broken Crescent.
Follow home rules for playing a game without exploiting the M2TW engine deficiencies.
Hints for Medieval 2 moders: forts, merchants, AT-NGB bug, trade fleets.
Thrones of Britannia: review, opinion on the battles, ideas for modding. Shieldwall is promising!
Dominant strategy in Rome2, Attila, ToB and Troy: “Sniping groups of armies”. Still there, alas!
