    Regions&ProvincesModv2.0

It is vanilla map with 69 more provinces.

It can be a good solution to the problem where most of us want to play on normal sized map with more provinces.

I checked it out and it looks good, but I'm not good at modding and don't know if it will fit in right--I don't know how the descr strat was changed so there will need to be work done to bring that map into RTJ like intended.

But I hope you look into this Ramm and get Full version up--we've all been waiting and this map is what we need to finally be done with 2.0

Has anyone got this to work? I downloaded it, installed it and then ran it. Everytime I tried to start a campaign I got a CTD.

From the looks of its thread over in the Mod Threads forum, it seems I'm not alone in having problems with it.

Okay... here is it. you have to copy all files from regions mod into your RTJ folders. All files that apply to using a bigger map: base map folder, mercenaries, regions. I've play tested doing this and all you need to do is use my descr_strat. It combined RTJ and the extra regions correctly:

Using it.Thanks for the tip! I lost the money script in campaign_script.txt so added that manually

I thought the money script was taken out anyhow (in RTJlite)

If anyone needs help using regionsmod with RTJlite you can post here. I haven't found any bugs other than the strange missing port here or there. Overall::

Vanilla < RTJlite < RTJlite + regionsmod < RTJ Full (once its done)

Well this is a good solution until Valor finishes with the new map.

I tired it also with these map, but I like the big map extended more. But anyone can play on the map he wants its very easy to change, cause the map files are easy to overwrite without damaging the mod.
only problem remains in duke of xxxx which will not be there for new regions and citys which were not in vanilla.

ultimate 1.2 will work better on big map, when charakter movement points are increased it works with big map also very well. after I saw 1.06 I became a fan of big map. the mapper who makes it seems to get much work into it and patches it very often.

A major issue with using this map is that you'll lose a lot of people who don't know how to copy over the map files themselves etc. Until there's an installer that does it, plus a simple guide as to what map files to overwrite in RTJ, it will be a problem for most people.

Plus any map that doesn't increase at least somewhat the amount of space to maneuver your armies isn't going to be of much added value over time, and any map that doesn't work well with Ultimate AI is probably counter-productive.

I'm in favour of using BigMap 1.06 until we see Valor's new map.

Can you please give a detailed guide to add regionsmod with RTJ: what files to replace etc.

The map is based on the RTJ 2.0 beta version (actually the same as in 1.1 version) with additions of some regions (Orléans, Arras and maybe more - but not too many) wrong names/places for settlements are fixed. For now, I've particulary worked on the french territory (rivers fixed, seine added) and Flanders-Holland region.

I like the RegProv map, but I don't like the army allocations for the new rebel towns. They have way too many units, making them unassailable in the early game. And even the original rebel towns have had Dismounted Knights added (which don't have a skin for the rebels, btw, and the unit card appears to be a peasant). If the intention was to save the added rebel towns for later in the early game, I guess it was a success. But I don't think the rebels should have Dismounted Knights.

You can always just edit the descr_strat file to reduce the composition and strength of the rebel garrisons. It's not too hard.

Thanks. I was about to go poking around to see if I could make any changes. You've told me exactly where to do so.

Nemotrox, I've tried RTJ with RegionMod 2.1 and found that all title in ancillary titles disappeared. I just hope new RTJ with Valor map can fix this.

Anyway, the map is great and I'd rather play this one until new RTJ release.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    Hmm,

Well Nemotrox posted how to do that in the 1st page.
He also release his own Desc_Strat to make it some what works together. Try it out.
