Basil, do you really believe that Communism is a big factor in the modern US? Do you think the protestors were motivated by Communism?

Thing is, while "white supremacy" or "nazism" is mainly an imaginary threat being a part of smear campaign against libertarian and civic nationalist movements, liberal left in US is kinda like watermelon, green on the outside... and rather red on the inside. That was especially obvious after revelations that came from USSR, when it turned out that liberal left in US was actively colluding with GRU and Soviet authorities.

I actually missed it through the mess and I apologize for that. The ultimate goal of the social justice crowd is equality of outcome. That should be achieved under severe restriction of liberties that result in inequal outcome. Sure, they are not calling for confiscation of private property or the means of production yet, but it will come. Mostly because the totality of social justice policies rely on a framework of oppressor/oppressed, which is the same as communism. So, same goal, same logic, different methods... for now.

In other words, they're not communists at all. Perhaps you should consider learning the word means before casually accusing everything you dislike as being 'Communist'.

How do you think the mob interfered with business relations anyway?

The university cut their business ties with the bakery and interfered with all the bakery’s attempts to get new business. They did not just have a Dean show up at the protest with students. A few months later business with the bakery was resumed after they had nearly crashed into bankruptcy.

This is the kind of activity that any University or business would be slammed by a judge or jury for.

If all it was was protesting the bakery would have been laughed out while individuals who went too far in the protests would be handled on their own.

Its a fair point that these stupid smears get thrown around. US politics is full of lazy smears, some Republicans were calling Obama "Socialist' while he pumped free money into Wall Street, we have dingbats calling Trump a Nazi while other dingbats call him a stooge of Israel (you know i think he's just a stooge, bu hes no nazi and the media has treated him as unfairly as they treated past presidents).

Where there is actual racism you have opportunist leaders hijacking movements to get elected and do nothing about it. I believe Obama was a decent person but his party is not and he did evil things for the evil people who let him rule.

I don't know about the US but in Australia elements of the "Old Left" (=that is actual communists obeying orders from the USSR) have infiltrated the Greens and some other left wing groups. They bring a tradition of duplicity (they used extremely dodgy tactics to infiltrate the Union movement in the past and were rooted out only with much political damage) and manipulation that's very unhealthy for democracy. Thankfully the far right in the country are just terrible at duplicity, they keep identifying themselves online as fascists (on their real accounts) so they have a hard time infiltrating anything.

I support a broad spectrum of political views but the old Stalinist apparatus is a dreadful and poisonous worm in my country's system. They don't even need to be in complete control, they just bob up and nudge the narrative. We've seen well-meaning Greenies intent on motherhood issues like "lets not poison the water table" and "maybe we should have energy independence instead of relying on the ****ing Saudis" suddenly finding their party hijacked by reds obsessed with getting revenge on Israel because they duped Stalin in 1951. Zombie communism ffs.

This bakery issue springs from over sensitivity about racism. Looks like the bakery wasn't racist but do-gooders got all excited and decided they were. Blaming this on the GRU doesn't look plausible, this is dumb kids getting their scared teachers in trouble. Partisan idiotic smearing of the other party's president isn't a Commie plot either, the US has been doing that since at least Lincoln.

3 African American Oberlin students stole from the bakery. When caught, they proceeded to beat up the owners. When the police arrived, Oberlin senate and the administration launched a massive smearing campaign of racial profiling, despite zero evidence of it whatsoever, combined with continous protests and financial sanctions. (The bakery had done business with Oberlin until then). They also launched lawsuits for ''a long history of racial profiling''.
