    Default Ron Paul for president

It might seem as a long shot but he is the most libertarian candidate with some kind of chance of winning.
And he should have some bonuses for his consistent opposition of the Iraq war, Hillary after all voted for it.

Is it merely a dream that he would become president or does he have a real chance?

(For those of you who don't who he is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul )

Yeah, America definitely needs a Libertarian president for a change. Maybe he would finally bring some real freedom and liberty and not just slogans.

America was founded on Libertarian principals and only by returning to that path may it call itself the land of freedom once again.

Having said that I would rather have Al Gore as president with his anti-global warming agenda to try and stop the end of the world as we know it.

I've always been a big fan of libertarianism myself. In fact, I like to believe that one day economic liberals will prevail and people will be free everywhere.

I've never understood why there's so much opposition to the idea of free markets, but, then again, I could be wrong.

From what I understand of this man he is too far left to realy have a chance of makeing it in. As for Al Gore stopoing this global worming, well I don't know. It is prity cold out side, I could go for a little worming. And the wrold ending as we know it might not be all bad eather, a lot of people aren't hapey with the way the world is now....

He is not at all left leaning. He is a real American. How can I say this? Well I have studied American history, and Ron Paul supports limited government, and individual freedom. Ron Paul supports the ideas of the original America. He is the last of his era. His voting is consistent. He could care less about what his Republican contemporaries could think of him.

He is a man that believes in his own virtues. Ron Paul is truly the man for America. Ron is against all foreign wars, he is against big government, he is against the Patriot Act, and, he supports the constitution.

    Vote for him America,

Ya he is probly a leval headed guy, but I don't think he can convince enuf people of that to win. That and the old values of America, wich were pritry ****in' awsome if I do say so my slef, arn't vewed as those of the founding fauthers any more. The Neocon right has taken those valuse and replaced them with their own to gain favor with the public, brilant move realy that and tieing them selves up with the religious set.

I am not to woried about the whole world flooding. Firstly I can swim prity well and am not above learning how to sail. And then there is the tiny detail conserning the amount of water on the planet. Some one a while back, when the movie Water World caim out, couculated it out and discoverd that if all the water in the air, ice, and underground were to become liquid and forced to the surfus of the earth ocian levels would only rise about 800 feet and I can live with that.

I actually think that Ron Paul will have more problems becoming the republican candidate than winning the election after that. There are still a lot of neocons in the republican party who doesn't like him and his stance on foreign intervention.
The american people on the other hand do not support the Iraq war and Ron Paul has always been against that is something Hillary Clinton cannot claim.

Hilery dosn't have a chance to win, if you ask me and a lot of other people. Firstly she is a bich, and no one likes a bich. Secondly there is the whole war thingey. And thirdly she is anti gun and there is little chance that she will catch the votes of those who like the guns we have.

Even though I support the Keynesian economic theory, I could see myself voting for this guy because of his stance on foreign policy and some domestic policies (ie, anti-Patriot Act)

Ron Paul is running for president?

Or is this just a pipe dream of some people?

Oddly enough, believe it or not, he lives three houses down from me in a middle-class neighborhood.

Be kind of weird if he did run for president... even more if he won.

From what I understand of this man he is too far left to realy have a chance of makeing it in.
then you understand very little of ron paul.

Ron Paul's office has confirmed reports that the Texas Congressman is set to run for the 2008 Presidency. Paul unites opposition to the war and the police state at home across the entire political spectrum and in contrast to the current gaggle of criminals running the White House, represents everything that America truly stands for. A gargantuan effort in support of Ron Paul needs to be mobilized now to prevent Americans from being hoodwinked once again into electing a different puppet of the same dark establishment in 2008.
The Texan represents a dying breed in Congress, those who actually cast their votes in accordance with the Constitution and not at the discretion of lobbyists or the fear that the elite will tarnish their political careers if they don't continually support the establishment. As a result Ron Paul is the elite's worse nightmare, simply having him on the ticket itself will be a massive public relations blow, and that's why media organs will probably be activated to try and discredit him before 2008.

Paul was one of only a handful of Republicans to vote against the illegal invasion of Iraq, contenting rightly that the Constitution clearly states that only Congress can declare war. In bucking a trend, Paul was anti-war long before the majority of the country came around to a similar way of thinking following the catastrophe of the occupation.

According to the Associated Press , "Paul bills himself as "The Taxpayers' Best Friend," and is routinely ranked either first or second in the House by the National Taxpayers Union, a national group advocating low taxes and limited government."
On every single issue of national importance - borders, the war, limited government, U.S. sovereignty, tax and the federal reserve - Ron Paul stands for populist ideals that the country is screaming out for after seven years of hell under Bush, preceded by eight years of disgrace under Bill Clinton.
Ron Paul voted against the Patriot Act, opposes the draft, advocates the abolition of the income tax, urges the re-introduction of the gold standard, and stands against initiatives to strip the U.S. of its sovereignty such as CAFTA and the FTAA.
