Default Tutorials to learn how to mod new units?

I want to learn how to make my own units and assets, and add them in game with their own stats. I've long wanted to play an Aztec total war and I think there's no point in waiting any longer. Are there any tutorials either in youtube or in here to show one how to do that?

I'm a pretty experienced digital artist and sculpter so it shouldn't be that inpenetrable.

Which game (M2TW, Rome 2 etc)?

There won't be tutorials on how to make a unit from scratch, eg how to create the model (the application you use, example Milkshape, will have online tutorials), but most game versions have tutorials how to integrate those models into game play. As that varies from game to game you have to be a bit more specific.

Attila I've heard is the most extensive thus far. I was hoping for some Tut's on how to make new unit models, especially the polycount I need to work with, using original models as a base, I dunno.
I'm a complete noob so I'd like to know where to start.

I just checked the Atilla workshop and I didn't find any tutorial about creating units.

This should get you started, afaik nothing much changed from rome 2 to attila... It's still TW Engine 3 so basically most of it is the same (sort of like how RTW / M2TW modding is very similar with minor changes)

^ Thanks dude, that looks fairly indepth. I'll ask some resident vets as well, but if you guys see any other useful tutorial be sure to let me know here.

If CA isn't gonna make an Aztec Total War I'm gonna have to do it myself.

Take care not to go beyond the average poly count and the size of the supporting texture files - it's a major hit on performance otherwise. Although the engines after M2TW (where this is a major issue due to limited RAM use) can take it better, I believe.
