A few words about this AAR and mostly it's fromat. If you have ever played the Elder Scrolls games, you will be familiar with the books that there are in all games. This AAR is a collection of such "books" based on the timeline and the events of the campaign I play in Medieval 2 Total War. So as you already may know, the books in the games can span from 20 in-game pages to just short letters and poems with just 8 lines (Don't expect me to write poems, though). This AAR will not be a retelling of every move and battle in the campaign map from my point of view, but rather stories written by characters during the events. I do no intend to follow a strict chronological order, or a standard theme, but I may try to keep some cohesion between the "documents". As a side note, I played this campaign almost 2 years before I start writing this AAR, but I have kept too many saves for each turn, so my task now is to reconstruct the stories. I hope you enjoy it!

"Every culture on Tamriel remembers the Dragon Break in some fashion; to most it is a spiritual anguish that they cannot account for. Several texts survive this timeless period, all (unsurprisingly) conflicting with each other regarding events, people, and regions: wars are mentioned in some that never happen in another, the sun changes color depending on the witness, and the gods either walk among the mortals or they don't. Even the 'one thousand and eight years,' a number (some say arbitrarily) chosen by the Elder Council, is an unreliable measure."
―Where were you when the Dragon Broke? , 1st Edition
By the term “Dragon Break” scholars and the common folk refer to periods of time when alternative timelines spawn and co-exist, until finally they merge back together, most of them at least, and follow the main timeline of events that we are all familiar with. Those so called Dragon Breaks usually occur when there is a greater interaction between mortals and the Divine. Some examples are the activation of Numidium, both times, the Oblivion Crisis and the more recent return of Alduin in Skyrim. All knowledge about Dragon Breaks comes from either contradicting documents and reports regarding the very same events, as is perfectly showcased in the book “The Warp in the West” about the events in Iliac Bay, or people’s memories that contradict the main timeline.
The Warp in the West is with certainty the most famous and universally accepted Dragon Break. New researches however classify the Oblivion Crisis and the Return of the dragons as Dragon Breaks. However, most evidence are just people’s contradicting recollections, than actual written documents. For instance, on Oblivion Crisis, beggars and other low-class people have claimed that the Champion of Cyrodiil became the Grey Fox, while some scholars of the Imperial University and imperial mages have claimed that he became the Archmage. Others have gone so far saying he became Sheogorath, the Mad God himself, but those recollections are disregarded as mumblings of mad men. On the Battle of Burma many guards of the city claimed they had no external help other than the Champion and Martin Septim, while there were soldiers from other cities that swore they had fought themselves at the Battle, aiding their brothers in arms.Same case with the Dragonborn. People sometimes even argue about the race and the gender of the hero. There are even people who believe the Stormcloaks won the civil war and others who claim they saw the Dragonborn himself executing Ulfric Stormcloak. The hero is also sometimes described as a werewolf, and sometimes as a Vampire Lord.
Finally there is scarce evidence that besides those short timelines, because of those events, longer alternative timelines may occur, that may never merge back to the original, thus giving birth to theories like the alternative universes. Such example are a series of books, recently recovered and sorted, about the Imperial Wars after Uriel VII Septim’s death and the establishment of a stronger Tamriel Empire. Events unknown to everyone are described with detail and stories of great heroes and their deeds, no one has ever heard about them as well.
