What do you think institutions are, other than collections of individuals or the sum of their collective thoughts, negotiations and compromises?

I mean, the Constitution is literally the end result of a bunch of people getting together, and nutting out a framework that is entirely based on their legal and moral understandings. And it is designed to be an editable, updateable, living document. So if this moral panic you're so enamoured with does indeed become dominant or mainstream, the only thing that prevents it becoming constitutional as well is a vote or two in Washington (simplified for effect).

So yeah. Selective moral panic. Boo hoo. Cry me a river.

I think that you are either deliberately, or by way of following the views of others, taking the opinions of some very small few self-labeled progressives, and combining them with a particularly narrow view of what you call 'critical theory' and using this to attack broader progressive agendas in ways that don't actually align with actual mainstream liberal policy or intent. There is a great deal of straw man going on that seeks to destabilise general liberal policy discussion by tying it to a moral panic. You can tangle it up in fancy speak, but that's what this moral panic is. It is PC of the 90s all over.

That certainly is a convenient list of excuses for refusing to engage with the evidence. I continue to find it peculiar that so many liberals (esp. in positions of influence or power) who're open about their commitment to race essentialism seem to recoil in horror and denial when shown proof of the institutionalization of their beliefs.

Parents being concerned over real education being replaced with pseudo-science is a legitimate concern, not a moral panic.
Having said that, government and media reaction to this is certainly a good example of moral panic.

How would you like it, if they would just teach National-Socialism and Holocaust denial in school to your kids, and if you protest they claim you are an unhinged communist who doesn't want children to learn about crimes of communism in the past? They use the same sophistry to justify CRT being taught, so it just comes down to closet marxists being salty for being called out on polluting education system with their propaganda.

As someone who is generally culturally conservative, I would say that the Creationism vs. Evolution debate is the dumbest thing in the discourse on education.

Get over it, Protestants, it's an even more amazing testament to God's power that he granted all life the capacity to change, adapt, and develop based on the creature's own needs and the pressures of its environment, rather than Him just fashioning different things at different times. The Catholics understand this, I don't know why the other sects don't.

I am pretty sure there are school districts that go either "Teach only creationism" or "teach creationism also".
As there are a ton of school districts that teach abstinence only in the era of cellphone porn.
