I find it incredibly funny that Basil thinks that people who have sold their country's future for personal profit and have bowed down to Russian interests are patriots. 100 years aog people like Orban, Dragnea, Slavini would have been hanged bvy the people in the public square.

Europe is stuck between a rock and a hard place; both socialists and neofascists disdain European culture and sovereignty, they just have different methods of dismantling them. Putin is egging everyone on in the hopes that civil war or unrest breaks out, thus giving him some breathing room while he takes over Eastern Europe. It's unsurprising to see a lot of these "far right" parties pandering to Putin. They're basically hoping he helps put them in power via online propaganda etc., at which point they'll side with him against NATO, effectively establishing Europe as a Russian vassal, not much different from Chechnya. This is true of the "far left" as well. Putin really doesn't discriminate based on ideology; as long as you're willing to look the other way while he invades his neighbors, he's your pal. For now.

What a LOL thread title.
Let me correct it a bit (with lol in mind, but needless to say, it is also a very serious moment in the history of the EU).

Bollocks. Both Bullingdon boy Boris Johnson and the Marxist Jeremy Corbyn want Brexit. Posh Cameron and humble Jess Phillips do not. Farage is a fanancier who lives the high life off screen. Not many ordinary people swanning around in chaufeur driven Range Rover.

PVV is the Wilders party.Looks like victory for the 'traitors' in the Netherlands. Newcomer Forum for Democracy will get 3 seats, but the other eurosceptic parties PVV (-4) and SP (-2) are set to lose all their seats.

Your correction is incorrect: left and center-right parties are, for the most part, traitors (who are also most authoritarian and thus the closest we have to conventional fascism in the West), and democratic nationalist movements are patriotic, at least by the virtue of not hating their own people or neglecting their interests.
Nah everyone would be too hangover... after celebrating Merkel, Macron and the rest of the traitor center and left bunch being drawn and quartered for treason.
I also find it quite amusing how one can drink the cool aid of the rusophobic narrative how anyone who is against neolibs is automatically an avatar of Putin, while turning a blind eye on how neolibs are, in fact, much worse.
Except that the "patriots" in Romania have been caught colluding with Putin, have been caught stealing money and taking bribes from Gazprom, have been caught making pro-russian statements for Sputnik.md, have been caught visiting Moscow before important elections and referendums and have been struggling for 2 years to make corruption and receiving "gifts" from third party statal actors legal.
In fact tomorrow, with the election, we are going to have referendum which prevents the current government from passing any emergency decisions or supporting any laws altering the justice system and which will remove all immunity from elected officials for cases of corruption or cases and receiving "gifts" from abroad - mainly Russia and the Ukraine. Guess who was the first person to speak against the referendum. Dragnea, who is directly targeted by it? No. It was the Russian ambasador to Romania quickly followed by that psychopath Lavrov.
You can point fingers and talk about the cool-aid all you want but people are not as stupid as Rossiya Segodnya keeps telling you. Nor is the Russian government as innocent and saintly.
In fact I find it incredibly ironic that you talk about neo-liberalism knowing that the entire movement was started as a 5th column movement in the US and Britain by the First Chief Directorate (for non-russians that is the foreign intelligence branch of the KGB)

Russia isn't the most major foreign influence in Europe, international banks and corporations play a far more damaging role then BBC/CNN would like you to believe, while the whole notion of status quo opponents all being "Russian spies" sounds like TV "news" overdose that hardly meets reality. And I'm not disagreeing that neolibs today are a 5th column, they just switched allegiances, but they are still traitors to their own countries.
Indeed, it isn't. But it wants to be. Which is why it's funding and coordinating crooks and corrupt officials like Farage, Dragnea, Orban, Salvini. A weak, corrupt, hate filled Europe is exactly what Russia wants.

The whole "hate" thing is just a buzzword that conotates no intellectual substance. One would think that the whole "if they don't want to mass-import immigrants and have their taxes spent on welfare then they are Russian spies" narrative would die out by now, but I guess power of TV is still strong. As I said above, Farrage, Orban and others are a lesser evil.

Unless my maths is faulty the CDU won.
CDU lost 8 percent to last election.
Da Vinci is right, Winner are Greens. Votes doubled. Germans, especially young voters are in majority worried about climate change.

And the "patriots" got a stinging defeat in Romania, scoring a cumulative of 34%. They also lost the referendum and so most of them will be going to jail in the immediate future as thier immunity is stripped away. This is what you get for taking bribes from Gazprom and committing graft.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics...ories-may-liveEuropean parliament: projected results
Here is a look at the projected overall results, from @EuropeElects, based on their own research, the BBCs results and those in the European Parliament website. Here are some of the headlines to take note of:
The Greens/EFA block has had a big boost. It looks set to increase its seats by 50% in the parliament from 50 in 2014 to 75 seats.
The Centre-left: S&D grouping has been significantly weakened. It is projected to lose 50 seats in the 751-seat chamber, going from 191 in 2014, to a projected 141 now.
The Centre-right: EPP (European Peoples Party) are also big losers, projected to shrink from 221 seats down to 165.
The Liberals: ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, including Emanuel Macron’s Renaissance party) are projected to increase their presence in the parliament from 67 to 115 sets.
The Rightwing: ENF/EAPN (this is right-wing populist alliance block, including Italy’s Matteo Salvini plus MEPs from other rightwing parties, like Alternative for Germany , Finns Party, and the Danish People’s Party) look set to hold 74 seats, up from 37.
The stated goal of the group is to challenge the power of the governing bloc, including a push for tighter immigration and border policies.
Projections, but interesting if proved true. It would appear that the 'right-wing' surge did not do as well as some commentators predicted, and it will be met by a liberal group and the Greens performing very well. How much could this really 'shake things up' if at all in the Parliament?
What is "green" movement? Western countries do not really contribute to damage to the environment, which is mainly done by places like China, India and Africa. Unless they want to sanction those countries or de-industrialize, then they are not really "green".
To wrap things up I thought to post the overall results
