***Updated 6 May 2019 - Corrected Version Requires Additional File D/L and Install
I've logged thousands of hours in Total War titles and after a while you get tired of the non-stop aural feedback.
Clicks, Cymbal Crash, Metal Clank, Bell Chimes, Collapsing Rubble, etc...
I find that the constant ruckus takes away from the battle sounds as well, which should be the loudest moments of any game.
So, I present to you three modified sound files which will simply remove all the clang and clatter from the game (campaign and battle) without removing diplomatic voice-acting and battle noise.
I also removed all the terrible, cheesy unit dialogue ("Oi Mate, you look like you need to sneeze. etc..") which utterly crushes immersion at times.
Installation:
1. Follow this link to download the three necessary files:
mediafire.com/folder/arln0pn5srfln/Immersive_Sound_-_Rome_II
2. Copy/Paste three files from your Rome II data folder to a safe place for backup. These files are sound.pack, sound_rome2.pack, and local_en_shared_rome2.pack
3. Now place my version of sound.pack, sound_rome2.pack and local_en_shared_rome2.pack into the same folder, and you're all set.
Uninstallation:
1. To revert, simply drop your original files back into the Rome II directory and overwrite the mod files.

Here are a few alternate versions:
UI Sound Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/hj2j...udio_-_UI_Only
Voiceover Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/folder/olrc...o_-_Voice_Only
There are also versions for Attila and ToB:

****Note on Mod Structure: Unfortunately, there is simply no functional way to alter the game's sound files and cues without using the base game files unless you have a monster rig capable of processing/extracting audio from the game.
****Note on customized versions: Download packfilemanager, open the three audio db files described above and delete any .bnk/.wem files you don't prefer. Global_UI = UI sounds (ticks, crashing cymbals etc...), and so forth. Very simple.
