    The Apache can't upgrade their settlements to get ports sadly, but you can capture neighouring settlements who have ports, the Aztecs, Chichimec, Norway and Portugal (around Florida) will build ports. Also I think at a certain turn you can recruit mercenary cogs when your general is next to water

    Did you tell the AI to expand in the West? How did you do that?

    Because another mod I know when it wants something done, it spawns a stack for the ai there :/

    I can't tell the AI anything, I can mereley make thing more likely by buffing up movement range and aggressiveness or likeliness to lay siege.
    Also America is very close to Europe, which helps the AI go there.

    I don't like spawning stacks to simulate "a faction went there". Except the spawning stacks for the Mongol Invasion of course.
    Oh, and the rebel stacks that spawn in the Americas, to give a chance to the Apacheans and Chichis to get some tech (cavalry, gunpowder).

    This way, it feels more naturally and you may finally meet some European Natives in the Americas

    Interesting! What are the conditions for the Native American Plague? I've got several settlements and have been in contact for years. wondering when it will fire, that will topple my enemies' population score.

    It happens sometime after the black plague. It is not triggered by any faction taking any settlement, that was to unrealiable

    So I have had some intermittent crashes but it did work again after a few tries. However this time, a while after the last crash, I have crash that isn't letting me start, I reimplemented all the files of previous. Here you go.

    I really don't know what causes this.

    Copy the last names.txt and bin files I send you again into the mod folder and set them to read only. If they are already set to read only, make it the other way round.

    Unfortunately that did not work either. I wonder if one of the modders on bigger projects might recognise this issue.

    Regarding the plague, damn, I'll have to wait another hundred years for the Mayans to catch my cold.

    come to think of it, doesnt that mean the black death can be packaged and shipped immeaditately to the new world by infecting a spy? making two plagues for America.

    mhhh, i am sorry, i have really no idea what the problem is

    and yes you could theoretically import the plague, but you would have to infect every city manually

    I got the mod to work that one time, and that one time only. For me, 9 out of 10 times it crashes on start up. I keep getting the names file error too. I looked in the descr_names text and removed the entries faction:tlaxcala, faction:saxons, and faction:normans and now it will start up every time. However the campaign and custom battles won't load. The mod isn't crashing, no names file error, just not loading. I use task mgr to stop and it's stating the obvious Medieval2 not responding. Do you think removing those faction names in the descr_names text is a step in the right direction or am I way off again?

    Baron von Manteuffel sounds like he has the same issue as me. With removing those names, will it load a save game? As when I could get it to start I could load my test game as the Apache.

    Though, those faction names sound like pretty important pieces.

    I noticed that other mods have the coding name as the same as the ingame name (Ie. Martells in WTW are not called Turks but Martells in the console) and other mods call them over their base game alias. Here we have saxons, tlaxala and normans. I wonder if they need standardising.

    Those entries should have no effect, removed or not. But I may be mistaken.
    Removing them removes some clutter, which could be good.

    Does the detailed log say anything, Baron?

    Librarian, by removing those entries you should be able to load a savegame. Those two faction entries are not used, so that should not be a problem. You may give it a try.
    Every faction in this mod is called by the correct name, so that my not be the issue.

    system.log.txt.7z I tried to start a campaign and this time I just waited to see if anything would happen, and it finally CTD and generated this log. I hope it helps.

    yup, it is again in the names.txt and maybe the descr_strat

    High. Did you implement Germanicus BAI script in your mod? If no - maybe I can make a simple .xml addition to tactical battles without any heavy scripts.

    Ok, then I need your mod .bat file, battle_config.xml and config_ai_battle.xml files. Could you please send them by pm (I can't download any big data for the moment and haven't your mod installed).

    If you didn't change any parameters in .xml then I have those files from vanilla and need only your .bat file.

    With constantly replacing the descr_names with the one I made earlier without those specific names it starts about 75% of the time and I managed to begin another save in case it decides to not load again. I wasn't in the mood to play yesterday so I didn't take advantage of this opportunity while it is starting but I will get back to you, and try some of the other methods if I run in to trouble again.
