    i have deleted the game completely and reinstalled in english language and i used the file you sent me but unfortunately it didn't work.

    Thanks for the support you and Dragour have given me, I'm sure you will be able to find the solution to this problem, in the meantime I keep playing the Total Vanilla Byond mod.

    Game would be cool from what i have seen , I cant run this mod, get an error message . I run total war vanilla mod ss 6.4 no worries i drop the file in and hit the bat file load sceen pop up then boom gone.

    Medieval 2 total War encountered an unspecified error and now will exit,

    She is slowly fixing things now and then when she has time, we've been playing on an updated version together lately so hopefully she will release the latest patch soon

    I don't know why this mod doesn't work, doesn't even start.

    Total Vanilla Beyond works perfect, and all the rest of mods i have too, but i don't know what's going on with this one.

    Good News: I have fixed the native building issue over the course of the day. (and gave the Native American's a few of the Mesoamerican buildings, gave like 2-3 mayan exculsive's to the overall Meso cultural group alongside the building descriptions). I did this by effectively copy-pasting the middle-eastern section of the descr_cultures.txt and replacing the new copied middle-eastern parts (settlement city levels, up to that of atleast city here) with "aztec" (before the ".cas" part). Then after that; I went to the "settlements" folder where I copied all the files found in: ""middle_eastern"" into both the ""mesoamerican"" and ""nativeindian"" file/folder. finally, In the ""export_descr_building.txt"" I gave both ""mesoamerican"" and ""nativeindian"" wall buildings, tower buildings, ship ports, mines, roads and settlement conversions.

    The Bad News; it's not the problem. it's the name file problem that's causing the CTD.

    I shall upload the fixes on MediaFire for the common folk (Who are either way too slothful or incompetent to manage, with doing the mention fix up above in this post). Don't worry, I have a ReadMe included in the download. (So even the greatest of Nincompoops, amongst us. can fool-proofly here figure it out.

    Okay. So I have found a fix/solution for the names issue:

    To fix it, you must use (and subsequently download) the names.txt *and* it's accompanying .bin found in TotalVanillaBeyond. ( https://www.moddb.com/mods/total-vanilla-beyond right here) once you have that. Please make a copy of *totalbanana's names.txt* file onto the desktop and open the new spare here with a .txt editor of your choice (please then also delete the original names.txt and then it's .bin that's originally found in the ""text"" folder after you've done made your desktop spare, that you will use for a reference) now you will then copy both of *TotalVanillaBeyond's, names.txt and it's .bin* file and proceed to paste those into the "text" folder of TotalBanana's. You after that; will now open "the new copied and pasted names.txt file" with said editor aswell. once you've opened the "new copy and pasted names.txt file" here with again said editor, you will *copy everything* from the "original spare names.txt" into the new one (while keeping the new ones's: "¬ Generated by BinEditor v3.0" part and the no spaces in it before the name "Aaron".

    There. No CTD anymore. That should resolve the issue for you (as it's how I solved it for myself).

    Again, Like I did prior for the natives here.     Edit 2023-08-31: i've noticed that if you edit the names.txt, the issue does re-surface. so if it does this for the download ((or for any other future file)). you may have to do, what I did up above. that is your only other option.

    Edit: Mhhh, I used the new names.txt and bin, buuuut it crashed for me. The error log stated that names are missing, and upon further inspection they did. Name like "Malinal", etc. So i reverted to my old txt files and it worked again.
    The crash happens at campaign startup.

    One thing people can try is unpacking all the game files from the core game via the per CA provided bats. This could be a solution, if Bananas will not start up on your PC. Do not hit me, if it does not work
