Thread: Rad looks at things - a thread for visual improvements

Double ethnicity - the Client ruler I recruited in Ariminum is a Senones and a Picens. I expect this to be an error because dual ethnicity is usually done with a single trait - for example, Puno-Hellene.

Technically, it's a trait error, but it irked my eyes so it's kinda visual

If I remember correctly, you folks intend to remove scale armor from Ibearian Scutarii units. If so, scale armor should also be removed from the unit description.

I plan to write new descriptions for them but only once we have the new units.

So, it's a complete overhaul instead of a partial change?

Yes, that's the idea, but unlike in the Lusitanian and Celtiberian cases, the revamped Iberian units have not been finished yet.

The description of the Gallo-Thraikes alludes to them, or part of the warriors, wearing the celtic torque around the arms instead of the necks multiple times. Not one of them does though

Are we not going to talk about the Epeiros-specific unit card image for Thracian Peltasts? No offense to the EB artists, 99% of whose work are gorgeous, but the Epeiros Thracian Peltast UI is ugly. While every other faction in the game enjoys the look of a red-clad warrior with a crisp linothorax, the Epeirotes have to deal with a zoomed out portrait of a guy wearing brown. Is this a reference back to EBI where the Epeirotes are the only faction that can retrain Mercenary Thracian Peltasts? Is this karma?

Some of Celtic units available early on campaign have a brown version of Port helmets (Leather? bronze?).

These were usually Iron; and the typology is from 1st century BC.

    Cisalpine swordsmen!

Great looking unit in all three versions.

However, the middle and the late version might need some visual tweaking.

    1. Middle version - The mail texture is a bit off in the waist area.

    2. Late version - Something is protruding through the helmet I marked.

Thanks Rad. Those are probably not in the top priority but for later it could be interesting to see what cause the issue.

Very small graphical glitch on the inside of the captain of the Iberian Heavy Swordsmen unit, only one that has this. Dahae units used to have a somewhat similar problem, but checking on that it was fixed apparently

Were the shields on the Elite Illyrian Slingers fixed? Most are ok now but there's still some with very shiny shields.

It could be a very, very dark wool hat.

That hat has zero albedo. Not even black holes absorb that much light. It may be a texture issue

I'm leaving a possibility of it being intentional because of stuff like this
