Default [Proposal] Revival of the Rostra subforum

I propose a revival of the Rostra subfourm to be a sort of Curial Commentary subforum similiar to what the Commentary subforum is within the Tribunal fora.

The main reason for this proposal is to make it easier for non-citizen to comment Curial matters in a specific subforum instead of posting in the Curial Commentary Thread (CCT) in the Questions & Suggestions (Q&S) forum.

Doing that will make it easier for non-citizens to post a separate thread about the curia, because the Prothalamos forum doesn't allow polls and I see no reason why a member need to post a poll in the Q&S forum.

The same reason also applies for posting a separate thread in the Q&S forum and such a thread often gets inactive due to the number of other threads in the Q&S forum.

    Proposed Changes
    • Move the Tabularium-Populi subforum to The Tabularium subforum.
    • Move the Rostra subforum from the Archives subforum within the Prothalamos forum to the same forum level as the Archives subforum has and enable posting permission for all members in the Rostra subforum.
    • As a result then move the Curial Commentary Thread into the Rostra subforum from the Q&A forum, should this proposal pass.

Also, what I propose is to reflect what had happen in the past and this decision comes to mind and that gave me an idea for this proposal.

Sound reasonable from the perspective of the plebs.

Would this not be more easily served (and with less structural changes) by simply moving the Curial Commentary Thread as a sticky to the Proth?

Yes it would. The whole point of the rostra was to allow peregrinii to interact with the citizenry. The proth more than fufills that purpose.

This would make sense if the Prothalomos wasn't moved. The former renditions had little to no activity. Anyone that interested in the site would seek citizenship... or lord forbid a citizen would bother to patronize said person.

Of course it would be easier, but then why has non-citizens goto the Q&S forum to post a poll about anything that has to with the curia and polls are not allowed in the Prothalamos forum.

Doing that will make it easier for non-citizens to post a separate thread about the curia, because the Prothalamos forum doesn't allow polls and I see no reason why a member need to post a poll in the Q&S forum.

    Description for the Prothalamos forum
An area specifically for the proposal and discussion of legislation and decisions. Polls are not permitted within the Prothalamos.

Well, even a non-citizen can suggest a new badge image or an award.

Yes, but the poll would be for voting - which would be in the Curia anyways

Any new image or badge would have to go through the prothalamos and go to a vote in the Curia

Nothing can pass without a Curial vote. A no brainer really.

Wouldn't a proposal would need three supports from citizens since citizens are the only voters?

I'm new to this, but I know that any proposal could be vetoed by hex. So. No, a proposal would not required support from three citizens.

    Well, the Constitution states;
12 For being moved to vote the latest version of a resolution requires at least three Citizens to post in its Prothalamos thread indicating their support.

A proposal can go to a vote only if at least 3 citizens support it. Hex can shoot down any proposal if it is unfeasible. They can also ignore the Curia and implement any failed proposal they want to, but they tend not to do that.

Another subforum with the presence of this section simply results in unnecessary extra forums to browse for little practical gain when simpler, viable options exist. The identical goal is achieved by moving the CCT here, and in the case of polls - if that is truly necessary (I don't see it, but lets give it the benefit of the doubt), how about amend this section to allow it on an informal, non binding basis?
