problem with retraining
hope somebody can help me with an annoying and frightening retraining problem i already searched the forum but couldnīt find an answer to this issue.. i have an army in ithilien and espacially, my proud, 4 longbow archer battailion perfect in every sense, armour experience , etc.
but now after some huge battles i have to retrain them badly they are down to 10 men, but when i send them back to this city in ithilien i canīt retrain them!!!
i have to admit i still havenīt fully understood which unit i am able to retrain where when and why, an answer to that would be quite helpful as well, but i know that i have retrained them in this city many times before and that they are even recruited there.
so why canīt i retrain them and where should i be able to.. by the way minas mirith (?) & minas mithil (?), the capital and the city on the other side of the river, arenīt capabale of it either.
plz help i donīt want to loose my babys.

Re: problem with retraining
The retraining has been addressed in the next release. In providing units with size variation I did not provide access to the choice of units at each level (or units recruitable from a separate building) and thus in the released version the inability to retrain troops except from the level of recruitment building (or higher) they were first recruited from. View your recruitment buildings of your cities or, better still, look in the building browser and find the unit (right click to find the unit size) and then you will know what to build or where to send it to get retraining.

Re: problem with retraining
strange since mine die all the time of natural causes. probably bug.
@master of none: thx for answer, but are you going to change that again ? plz. its really annoying when you have a superbly trained troop and canīt retrain anywhere since youīre on the hightest rank od city developement. maybe at least a possibility where i can upgrade the unit to the higher number by paying.

Re: problem with retraining
Well, the next release will not be compatible with saved games from CI.
Only the Reunited Kingdom has the unit-size variation (with perhaps a couple of exceptions) and RK's unit sizes, costs and area of training/recruitment have been purposefully made difficult. Hopefully players will find the Forth Eorlingas modifications to this system less confusing for the Reunited Kingdom.

Re: problem with retraining
i have to admit i donīt see it as being more difficult but just more complicated ! you have to install a minimanagement of troops heading homewards for retraining and a other part of troops already being retrained heading back to the frontline.. but it is just not challenging in a way of adding more fun to the gameplay but in a way of forcing you to pay more attention to minor issues which arenīt even rewarding.
by the way do you know a masterplan of how to increase the pc performance during battles ? my battles are nearly unplayable when there are more than about 300 troops on the battlefield. which is sad since your models like phenomenal.

To answer that we would need your PC Specifications.

Re: problem with retraining
We hope that the addition of sprites to nearly all units in the next release will aid in the speed of battles as well as some other minor tweaks.
