Perhaps this bug had been reported already and the developers are already cognizant of the fact but I tend to get more than 2 consuls elected after an election. It’s not frequent but it has happened a couple times. Obviously for historically reasons, it’d seem strange as 2 consuls were only ever elected during the republic

It's not a bug, it's something we can't do anything about. That's the way the trait system works, every eligible character for a trait is tested simultaneously, we have no way of making it stop after two have been "appointed".

Oh okay I understand, and so for historical reasons, would it be more practical to just put 2 family members eligible of the consulship in Rome? Also would it be 100% guaranteed that the 2 would get elected to the position?

It isn't guaranteed that an eligible FM you put in Rome will get elected consul. There's semi-randomness to it.

Ahh gotcha, I was hoping to stick to the 2 consuls per year rule but it’s not that big of a deal honestly.

I do enjoy the historical rp aspects of the mod and I’d have to honestly say that this is the best mod I’ve ever played for any total war game ever, much more so than EB 1. Every campaign feels so different due to the unique historical missions/events that each faction gets which really adds a dynamic and immersive element to an already immersive game. The larger updated voice mod, lengthy historical descriptions and features such as the horde mechanic also make it even more so better in this regard too. I realized that alot of total war titles would've benefited from a sort of optional linear path that players could follow if they wanted to like in EU IV. If only the diplomacy was on the same level as lets say EU IV, of course it's sadly limited by the Medieval 2 total war engine. Anyways, props to the team for making such a historically detailed and immersive game! It deserves a ton more recognition in the community and particularly from CA once again!
