Most people love football.
Even if foreigners are buying up the clubs.
Eats, shoots, and leaves.
According to reports Bennet reached a deal with Ra'am wherein they would vote in favour of a coalition led by him and Lapid. This would bring them to the desired 61 seats. Now all that remains is to agree on who gets what ministerships.
The Arab party ceased negotiations until the current escalation ends. Thanks Hamas for keeping Netanyahu in power. Sigh.

Even Israel itself doesn't use that excuse for the evictions.

Which is not not paying rent but of an ownership issue. The word "rent" isn't even used in the article. While Jews can claim ownership of property in East Jerusalem, claiming they used to live there before the war, Arabs can not claim ownership of property in West Jerusalem or any other part of Israel in the same manner.

Because AP didn't choose to elaborate? Here's an article that does. To quote: "In 1982, the Palestinian residents signed an agreement to remain on the property as protected tenants, as long as they paid rent to its Jewish owners. But Palestinians now say they were deceived and refuse to recognize the agreement. When offered a similar compromise last Sunday, Palestinian residents again declined, saying they do not recognize the right of the Jewish Israelis over their homes.
“We can’t accept such a thing, although of course we know it’s a risk,” Eskafi said."
Which shows that its not a rent issue but an ownership issue. Per your article, it is based on a law fro 1970 that says property of Jews before 1948 is still their property. There is no law for Arabs, however. that says something similar. It was surprising to see Netanyahu becoming extra fanatic about the evictions. He may as well likely hoped for it to turn violent.

Abolish rent. Problem solved.
Optio, Legio I Latina
I've stated they did this to themselves by ceasing to pay rent despite the agreement. Had they continued to pay rent as agreed there'd be no eviction. Of course the underlying issue is the ownership, but that was settled over 40 years ago.
Court cases regarding eviction were postponed a day before Hamas came out of left-field and fired rockets at Jerusalem. Shows how much they care for their holy city.Per your article, it is based on a law fro 1970 that says property of Jews before 1948 is still their property. Making people pay rent for their own property was already a dickish move. What you're doing now is like blaming the rape victim for wearing a short skirt. They didn't do this to themselves. The rent issue isn't even true for all, if not most, of the Palestinians in question. Many of the legal battles do not even concern with rent. These people left from their homes that they left behind which happens to be within Israel now. Israel says they have no right to those properties. Rent issue is merely a cop-out you're hiding behind.

It's called a compromise.
I'm pretty sure rape victims don't sign agreements stating that if they wear a short skirt they will be raped. But these people did sign an agreement saying that if they cease paying rent they will be evicted. What you're doing now is like blaming the rape victim for wearing a short skirt. They didn't do this to themselves.
And yet they were given the status of protected tenant, and all was fine for decades.Israel says they have no right to those properties. Rent issue is merely a cop-out you're hiding behind.
I support this.
It wasn't their property under Jordanian law either, otherwise their legal case would be stronger, but how is Hamas firing rockets at Israeli cities helping? It seems to me that they're sabotaging the formation of a coalition that would be more likely to address housing concerns in Arab communities.
It doesn't but what is the other option? Complaining won't stop the settlers. Reaching out the international organizations hasn't stopped them.
More rockets have been shot this week than likely in years and the riots in Israel are at least the worst I've seen. They've managed to cause Israel far more problems than if they just sat there and complained.
Participation in the government. The interests of Haredi Jews are overserved by the Israeli government because the Haredi parties have managed to consistently put themselves in a position in which the ruling coalition is dependent upon their support. Prior to this escalation, the Arab party Ra'am was just about to put itself in a position in which the ruling coalition would be dependent upon its support. This would also have been a coalition that excluded the far-right settler party. Naturally, Hamas doesn’t want an Arab party working non-violently for Arab interests from within the system, so an escalation that disrupts that possibility is in their interest.
So no more two state solution?
I see your point but you and I both know Israel's politics have shifted more and more to the right over these years. I don't see how having an Arab party in in a coalition is going to change anything. The interests of Haredi Jews are overserved by the Israeli government because the Haredi parties have managed to consistently put themselves in a position in which the ruling coalition is dependent upon their support. Easiest for example of this is Trump's peace plan. People forget it wasn't just people like Netanyahu, or nationalists, or far-right parties who supported that blatantly one-sided peace plan. The opposition like Gantz also supported the plan. This isn't a simple problem of a far-right settler party causing problems. It's much more than that.
Besides I don't see Ra'am staying in a coalition anyway. All it takes is one issue or problem for them to leave. You don't need Hamas to launch rockets into Israel to ruin a coalition. It could be as simple as the settler issue coming up again considering Israel loves to build settlements regardless of who it pisses off.
