I agree with Paleo, although rather than "disallowing" them from playing I would rather that their points are not counted at all unless they fully participate and follow the structure of the game to the best of their ability. People who don't rep, give their turn to someone else, or whatever should not have their point counted.

Some people simply want to ruin it for others.
The idea is to limit their ability to kill fun.

That's a good question. I suppose at that point it would be up to gaming staff's discretion as to whether or not they would be allowed to continue participating in bad faith.

Well, that's what I'm raising here.
There is at least one participant who does not even pretend to try to pay his dues.

I am posting here to see if there is support for this idea.
Only the gaming staff have the ability to induce compliance and there need to be explicit rules to comply to.

I agree.

That being said though, the head of gaming staff (Flinn) is unavailable at the moment so we'd really have to wait for him before anything actionable took place.

If you have answered correctly it is required to post the next quiz.

A second implicit rule related to the one above is that a player should not consistently ask others to take his turn.
In any case I recommend that those who would give up their turn should not have their victory counted in their total tally.
Also people who refuse to play by these rules should be disallowed to post in the games' threads.

I'd like a rule disallowing people for say.. a week when they completely halt a game because they don't get a rep point. Which with the small player base is already a hard thing to do. You are sufficiently compensated with rep when you attain a medal and it's rep merits.

Agreed but how I read the rules it already means you don't get a point when you don't post.

I don't know. IMHO the only requirement should be that if you correctly answer a puzzle, you must post a new one within a reasonable timeframe.

I've argued before I am in favour of dropping the custom of awarding rep points. It remains cumbersome with so few active participants (whether you have to find posts to dump rep on or impose on others to do it for you) and, given we have this leaderboard for those who are in it for the points, doesn't really add anything. I guess until such time (if ever) that's agreed on I'll have to suffer this, but so as not to impose it on others: from now on, feel free not to rep me for a correct answer. I won't hold it against you.

Well, as far as I am concerned the idea is that you don't just dump the rep, you find post that are worthy.
I think this is meaningful.

I don't believe it is possible to impose this -or anything else- on others.
You can merely ask for a favor and in my experience, people welcome the opportunity to "spread it around".

On the whole, all opinions are respected as civility requires.
In the end, maybe we put this to a vote.

The Rules

- The mechanics of those games request the guesser to take the next turn and post a new image/question for the game to move on; for this reason, a Competition Point will be assigned only if the member has got the correct answer and has then posted a new image/question for the next turn.

Regarding players who tend to kill the game(s), I think that the General Commentary Thread is a place better suited for a similar discussion. However, anyone who's well informed can send me a PM with few examples of this user breaking the games and I'll have a look at that, if anything to understand the actual entity of the issue. Thanks.

First, please be patient about the next update of points/medals; chesser is in a very hectic moment due to the pandemic, so things are moving slower that usual.

Second, about the new Guess the game from the screenshot thread; this could possibly be a valid addition to the TGC game list, what everybody think about adding it? If agreed, I'll work on editing the OP and creating a new name for the 60 points medal (whenever I have time
