CA publish new blog post about developers state in July 2020:
    https://www.totalwar.com/blog/dev-blog-july-2020/

    A Total War Saga: TROY

Troy’s still on track for release on 13 August but don’t forget, it’ll also be available to claim for free within the first 24 hours – and we have just fourteen days to go! We’ll have lots of reminders nearer the time, this is an opportunity that we hope you don’t miss out on.

Right now, the team’s focused on creating the best campaign experience we can as we get ready for release; but post-launch we have a lot of plans for Troy, and some of those will be taking advantage of new features as they come online with the Epic Game

Store and we activate functionality on our backend. Our focus is on getting you that opportunity to grab it for free first and foremost, but after that here’s some detail on what’s coming up.

You’ll see from the roadmap below that Amazons will be joining the game in September as our first DLC alongside EGS Mod Support (though you can still mod TROY the old fashioned way from launch), and what’s more you can grab Amazons entirely for FREE if you’re a Total War Access account holder (although this will be a limited time offer!). We’ll add multiplayer in November and Blood & Glory in October, and plenty more before the end of the year – and we’ll have even more detail on Amazons to share with you next week.

With paid Ajax and free Hephaestus they seem to follow the Paradox business model. I guess the players feel being treated in a fair manner with this system so the CA is following the suit.

If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.

One more possible important bit for Troy and future titles launching on multiple platforms
    Total War Access

One final thing. We hope you’re enjoying the THREE KINGDOMS official soundtrack, trailer music compilation and other recent bonuses on Access. There will be loads more to come, including that chance to grab the Amazons DLC for nothing.

A long planned for goal and major feature for Access we’re working on is the ability for you to link your different store accounts through it, so TW games and DLC you buy in one store will transfer to the others. This means that, for example, you can buy a game in one place, and then take advantage of a DLC sale in another. Plus, play multiplayer with people on different platforms. We’re working on it with our retail partners at the moment and we’ll let you know when we’ve more to share.

That’s it for now, a load of stuff happening, stay hooked up to our social media or TotalWar.com for all the latest news and details – it’s going to be a busy year…

The singing of the women is like from the Witcher, while the voice of the guy is like from the Game of Thrones (the mentor of the Stark's sons).

    • The priestess agent’s Ritual of Ruination action grants you favour when used against a foreign settlement in the same way as when you use the action on your own settlement. This means the religious abilities of the priestess can be used even when you have sent her deep into the territory of another faction. However, be aware that trying to enact a Ritual on a foreign settlement might fail, and the owner of the settlement will not look kindly on this. This change has replaced the previous morale-reducing effect of the Ritual of Ruination action

    • Impending defection event should no longer trigger for any reason

    • “Skirmishing” has been added to Archer Chariots and Trojan Noble Chariots instead of the special ranged attack one

    • Corybantes’ armour has been increased
    • Corybantes’ battle speed has been increased
    • Corybantes will now take reduced stamina penalties
    • Corybantes will now keep a tighter formation and be more resistant to chariot charges
    • Spartoi attack has been increased
    • Spartoi’s armour piercing damage has been increased
    • Spartoi’s health has been increased
    • Spartoi’s battle speed has been increased

    • The faction’s current greatest threat will also be displayed upon hovering over the icon
    • Factions from culture groups that can be confederated by the player’s faction will now be marked with a special icon in the faction list
    • Treaty propositions that have a negative repercussion to the player’s reliability rating will now be marked with a warning icon both in the Treaties panel and the treaty buttons
    • Floating notifications that inform the player of various instant actions, such as results of agent actions and armies changing stances, have been redesigned to communicate their key information more clearly
    • All icons in overlays have been updated with a dark background to make them stand out better against the parchment background
    • The Homeric Character trait now has its own icon
    • Additionally, the Homeric Character trait will now be visible in the Recruit Hero panel if a Hero has the trait
    • Added colour blindness support for enemy unit markers in battle – Tritanopia has been set to use red, while Protanopia and Deuteranopia use white
    • Added colour blindness support for the deal evaluation labels in the Diplomacy panel
    • A tooltip has been added to the hourglass icon that indicates an ancillary in transit and explains the transition mechanic and duration
    • New explanatory text has been added to the “None” item slot in Ancillaries to warn the player that unequipping an equipment will always put it in transit

    Miscellaneous

    • Some of you may have experienced odd behaviour with the Reliability Rating in Diplomacy when loading up old saved games. We investigated and found out that this was caused by a change we did to the Reliability mechanic after release. Should you end the turn, the game will automatically refresh it and start displaying the correct value

    English

The 1.4.0 update is the next major update for A Total War Saga: TROY, arriving alongside the multiplayer beta. This patch fixes a number of issues raised by the community and introduces a multitude of balance changes.
Highlights of the 1.4.0 patch include:

    • Multiple fixes and improvements to the way unit collision boxes interact with each other, resulting in units finding it much harder to move through a space occupied by an enemy unit, especially on Extreme unit size where the problem was observed the most before (please note that units might still be able to pass through enemy units depending on their weight class, but it will take them much more effort and they will take a lot more damage in the process)
    • A number of changes to unit statistics, attributes, and abilities have been made to improve the feel and balance of multiplayer battles
    • Changed horde armies’ and buildings’ behaviour so that when a horde army is wiped out the buildings it contained are saved to its commanding Hero in case they were immortal and were wounded instead of killed (the Hero will be available for recruitment again in a few turns)
    • Fixed an issue where an AI-controlled main army did not attack when the reinforcing army was being attacked by the player
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in mods failing to load or crashing the game

    Multiplayer beta

Multiplayer beta for A Total War Saga: TROY is here! It contains most of the features you’d expect to see in other Total War games, with two main elements: multiplayer campaign and multiplayer battle. More to come in the next few months!
Multiplayer campaign enables you and a friend to embark on a new campaign together… or against one another, if that’s how you want to roll! You could, for example, play as Paris and Hector, expanding your empires and marching shoulder to shoulder against the Greek factions. Or you could pit your economic and military might against each other as Achilles and Aeneas!
Multiplayer battles enable you to host matches which support up to eight players (any combination from 1v1 up to 4v4, human or AI) with a large variety of maps to suit different match sizes. You can play as any of the playable factions from the campaign game, along with their unique unit rosters and mythical creatures.
The multiplayer beta in update 1.4.0 includes:
    Multiplayer battles

    • Allows any player to host a new multiplayer battle lobby or join an existing one and customize the experience
    • Customization options include: battle type, battle map, battle difficulty, time limit, funds, time of day, weather, and unit size (new to Total War!)
    • Extra toggleable features include unit caps, battle realism, large armies, and all mythical unit rosters
    • Allows players of the same alliance to communicate via drawing on the in-game map using the Map Markers feature
    • The use of community created maps via mods is also fully supported

    Multiplayer campaign

    • Allows any player to host a new multiplayer campaign lobby, join an existing one, or resume from a save game
    • Customization options include: game mode selection between head-to-head and co-op, turn time, battle limit, default battle resolution (allowing players to choose what happens to a battle if players fail to agree in time – autoresolve by default, fight by default, etc.), unit sizes, and campaign difficulty
