hi,
I added georgia today and the game works well, until I'm on the "choose faction" screen.

when i click anything, (there's no difference between clicking on a faction icon or the "start campaign" button), I get CTD and have an empty systemlog.

any ideas?

Normally that is a strat map model problem, often a missing model or texture, but that will normally show on the sys log

Alright, I followed the tutorial, however, I get this line in my systemlog (the game does not start up):

Any idea how to solve this or what is causing this? It is annoying that it does not direct me to a certain file Problem is fixed.

I have a new one, a problem that is not covered by the sys log: I load up my game, and at the starting screen (the one before the movies start, SEGA etc) it crashes. Is this a Modeldb problem or EDU?

It's a modeldb problem, with the EDU you would have a system.log

Sounds like there are two entiries for sofia in your desc_strat, search the descr_strat.txt, for 'sofia' you prob have it owned by a faction and by rebels

Fixed it

Seems Catholic_"Patriach" and not deleted the extra entry for sofia was the problem. Now to add units!

ok so im modding a new faction using the already existing faction, saxons, im not done yet but something has been bothering me and i cant figure out whats causing the problem. the problem is with the text that should appear... well... everywhere in my campaign map.

heres an example of how it looks like:

EDIT: apperently this problem occurs for all factions, not just the one i modded

EDIT2: problem solved, turns out i had files in Medieval II Total War\mymod\data\text that wasnt needed in mymod folder

2nd screenie could be something to do with your win conditions. Usually all things will factions text are problems with expanded. Have a look at that maybe?

yea my guess was it had to be something wrong in expanded but when i looked in it i could not find anything wrong. ill have a look at it again i guess... thanks mate!

EDIT: nope, everything is as it should be in expanded, same goes for win conditions

Urrmm you play. If you mean adding textures, symbols etc. I suggest you get a good graphics editor and finds some tutorials.
