    Okay I have made in an interesting discovery. Duke suggests deleting the map.rwm file in data/base. I did this and to my suprise it is still there. I do it again and its still there only its size is smaller!!! My dad (he works with computers) tells me that the computer recreates the file when I delete it. This could what my problem is, so perhaps take it into consideration.

    Hey duke, im having the same sorta problem as imperator maximus, but i dont know whats wrong. When i go to start the campagin after finishing my faction doesnt come up and the it says that the campagin starts at 1ad and as soon as i start the campagin it crashes

    ive attached in the zip all the relevant files (at least all that i think are relevant)

    please help

    That sounds like a descr_strat problem. Taking a look at it, you have 1000 TURNS!!!

    I'm not sure if the number of turns in hardcoded but if it is, you will have definitely exceeded its limit. Anyways, why would you even want to play for 1000 turns?

    well i tried setting it back to 1530 but no luck
    any other ideas?

    btw i changed it because i thought the campagin would take to long lol. i found out i was wrong but didnt get to change it

    OMFG you dont know how annoyed I am. I tried everything you said but the damn faction wont even appear on the campaighn screen omfg

    I poster thise elsewhere but thought i put it here as i used this tuorial great tuorial btw
    After creating a new faction, ireland i loaded it all up and it worked ireland where there in the place i put them etc etc. But i tried moving the general... i moved him out of Cork . a province i made and it worked fine after he stoped i put my cursor over him on the map and it crashed with the normal CTD message.,.. any one no what could have caused this ??

    Edit:also as soon as someone gets adopted they die straight away ,... tis rather odd

    Nevermind i just missed the } at the end of the faction leader thing in the exdended.txt whops
    although i do still have the problems with the adopted generals.. on the family tree thing it says he died in battle :S

    hi all this is my first post on twcenter.net.. please someone help me create some new factions because i don't have any idea even if i read the tutorial...i would like to create wallachia,moldavia,serbia,ireland,wales,sweden and norway..but i don't have any skills in modding any game.... i would like the most wallachia,moldavia,serbia...please help me..

    Hi,

    I'd like to modify Crusades campaign of Total War Kingdoms Addon...The problem is that many of required files seem to have been merged with others during the update process. Anyway, they're gone and I don't know where.
    If somebody knows a solution, please post it here...

    Can you please tell me how to do that please?
    Can I follow the instructions of this tutorial?
    what files must I copy paste and where?

    hi there, thanks for the great tutorial. I try it out yesterday and it run perfectly. However, some mistake occur in my campaign map. see attachment :

    I added Ireland symbols (using the symbols from kingdom) in :
    mymod/data/menu/symbols/fe_buttons_24, fe_buttons_48, fe_fraction_units and fe_symbols_80.

    At the campaign selection there it shown perfectly. So what is the possible mistake i had made?

    I added Town_Militia & Spear_Militia in descr_strat and the pic shown is funny!!!! How do i changed it?? Besides, i noticed that i cannot recruite any army except spy, assassins, merchant and diplomat but the icon shown is funny and all the same. what wrong??

    someone please help!!!

    hey guys, ive been playing this for donkeys years and love the mods

    fancied trying my own and could'nt get past step one

    i cant find my

    descr_banner_new.xml file anywhere

    is that because i need to unpack an area of the directory?



    so like, i copy all of the vanilla folders into a seperate one under my_mod, then unpack them?

    and what would you recommend i use for unpacking?

    apart from that, im all set to go =[



    damn my inability be be 1337

    Yes you will need to download Alpacas Unpacker to mod this game another word of advice make a myMod folder just in case anythink goes wrong then aleast you have a back up.

    I took at look at your descr_strat and noticed a couple things:
    1. The coordinates placing your leader are wrong. Florence is located at (142,100). I am not sure where (131,92) is, but if that position is invalid, that could be causing problems.
    2. The faction creator of Florence is set to spain. I am not sure if that causes a conflict, it actually might not, but whenever I assign a province to a faction I set it as the faction creator.
    3. You are creating a rebel army on top of where you placed your leader (131,92).
    4. You are creating a rebel army on top of Florence (142,100).

    Then in descr_model_strat:
    • You link the roman priests and cardinals to tga's that don't exist in vanilla. If you made the tga's yourself make sure they are in data/models_strat/textures in your root data folder not the modfolder data folder.


    The error is descr models is a biggy. Also the last two errors in descr_strat are huge. If you fix those it should work and I strongly recommend fixing the first two descr_strat errors I mentioned.

    It would be very helpful if you posted your error log if those fixes don't correct the problem.

    Works Perfectly on Custom Battles? My computer just crashed
    You can only have 21 factions enabled for custom battle. If you want to use a new faction in custom battles you must first disable a vanilla faction from custom.

    The .rwm file regenerates itself when the .exe is launched. The game engine compiles all of the information contained in the tga's in the base folder into the .rwm file. If you change any of those tga's you must delete the .rwm and let the game regenerate a new one (thats why he said to delete it, although there is no need for anyone following the guide to do so as the guide doesn't change the map). It is like how you have to delete the strings.bin files then the game regenerates the strings.bin files from the txt files.

    Thank you DarkKnight but unfortunately I still have the problem. I changed the coor of my character to the location of Florence and deleted the rebel army that was there. I'm pretty sure I did the texture file right, I just simply copied the tga file I need and renamed it fit my faction.

    Sounds like I'm missing some files and maybe I have to add the Normans and the Saxons to the game? Thanks for your hard work.

    This looks like it actually may be an easy fix. According to the log you didn't copy over the entire contents of the imperial_campaign and base folders. If you use a modswitch it is mandatory to copy over the entire base and imperial_campaign folders. Copy them over and try.

    If you already have those files copied over... then its back to the drawing board.

    And you don't need to add Norman/Saxons. I just made 5 factions today for my Mercantilism TW mod (see sig) and you don't need them. The guide covers all (well...most) of the scripting things. I know how to get all the symbols and everything in. I plan on making a complete guide soon but I have just been to busy with my mod along with school, work, and college admissions.
