Default Women’s March ties to Louis Farrakhan, and California march canceled over ‘concerns it would be overwhelmingly white’

Wew. Intersectional Feminism has just done it again.

Women's March in California canceled over concerns it would be 'overwhelmingly white'

The post was met with a mix of responses, with some thanking the group for its decision and others expressing frustration and calling on organizers to change their minds.
The fact there even were people welcoming this blows my mind.

There were also concerns over ties to Louis Farrakhan back in November.

    https://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...ouis-farrakhan
Sarsour, a pro-Palestinian activist, has repeatedly praised Farrakhan and refused to condemn him. Mallory called him the “GOAT” or “Greatest of all time,” and served as a national organizer for his “Justice or Else” rally in 2015.
The Washington Post notes the ‘mixed’ reactions to the decision.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/ampht...lmingly-white/
While many of the Facebook group’s members applauded the organizers' efforts to diversify the rally, others expressed dissatisfaction with the decision.

“Local Organizers have let themselves be duped, What kind of crowd do they expect when you have 77.86% of the population being White?” group member Terri Selfridge commented on the post that announced the cancellation of the march. “Organizers PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!”

This is not the first time the Women’s March movement has faced questions about its racial makeup and inclusiveness. Excitement in the months leading up to the inaugural march in 2017 was damped by
divisive discussions about race — particularly involving minority women and how issues important to them sometimes differed from those of their white counterparts.

In recent months, the Women’s March has tried to quell controversy surrounding its leadership. Some regional chapters have distanced themselves from the national group and its leaders, who have been called to step down over
ties with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and accusations of anti-Semitism.
    More anti-semitism scandal - 23rd December

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/23/u...-semitism.html
The unity did not last long. Vanessa Wruble, a Brooklyn-based activist, said she told the group that her Jewish heritage inspired her to try to help repair the world. But she said the conversation took a turn when Tamika Mallory, a black gun control activist, and Carmen Perez, a Latina criminal justice reform activist, replied that Jews needed to confront their own role in racism.
Rachel O’Leary Carmona, chief operating officer of the Women’s March group, cast the controversy as the growing pains of a new organization that is struggling to build a diverse coalition. She said steps were being taken to ensure that Jewish women felt welcome, including giving Women’s March leaders education about anti-Semitism and adding Jewish women to the organization’s “unity principles,” which highlight groups that are considered especially vulnerable.

Ms. Mallory and Ms. Perez say they categorically condemn anti-Semitism, and that when they asked Ms. Wruble to leave the group, it had nothing to do with her being Jewish. But they acknowledged that the role of Jewish women was discussed in that first meeting.

“Since that conversation, we’ve all learned a lot about how while white Jews, as white people, uphold white supremacy, ALL Jews are targeted by it,” Ms. Mallory said in a statement to The New York Times.
It’s important to note this does not necessarily represent the entire movement, but is it fair to say that this represents the mess of progressive unbridled intersectionalism and perhaps critical theory eating itself?

It's strange that only the privileged and spoiled tend to organize marches of dissatisfaction.

The middle-class women of California have more wealth, power and plenty than any woman in India, Indonesia, Mexico, and most women in my country for that matter, could ever dream of having. And yet they are also the most dissatisfied women in the world.

It’s strange that the California march thought claiming the march had too many white people was more acceptable than admitting anti-semitism claims.

Lousiana had no such qualms - “We know we messed up and people are turning away from us and we know well why”

There seems to be this strange attitude towards a gathering being ‘too white’ in certain circles.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...-numbers-give/
In 2016-17, 27 per cent of the UK undergraduate intake were white males, down from 30 per cent in 2007-08.
Previous research has indicated that university staff have a mixed reaction to schemes aimed specifically at white boys in case it leads to accusations of racism.A study led by King’s College London said: “We found that people were quite uncomfortable with the idea of running a targeted activity with this group, in a way that we've not encountered, for example, targeting young black African men.
“We had quite a lot of people saying.
"This isn't going to be a white-only event, is it?”
Essex and Aston’s initiatives follows a warning by the Office for Students, which regulates universities, in September, that institutions could be punished unless they give a higher proportion of top degrees to black students.
The body plans to set a series of national targets to apply to all universities.

Racism against white people is acceptable and encouraged. Even CNN has literally said that "you should be scared of white people" (I think it was Don Lemon) and absolutely nobody cared. Hating Jews is still unacceptable though (this will change as the western world becomes Islamic over the next few decades).

So it was easier for them to do things the way they did.

The snake eats its tail. It was inevitable when the moron Linda Sarsour was given any sort of power in the movement; a woman who openly and unabashingly supports honor killings as a portion of Sharia law which we all in the west should abide by. The leftist regression has reached hitherto unimagined moronic results.

I vaguely recall, back in 2016 when all these alt-left groups were forming in the aftermath of Trump's win... we don't even need to fight them. Just let them do their thing and they will destroy themselves in the process. I think it was Linda Sarsour herself that made me come to this conclusion.

Just seeing her extoll the virtues of Sharia to a crowd of cheering third wave feminists in pink hats made me laugh so hard. It was at that moment that I knew... we don't need to be against these people. They will ruin their movement without our input.

Linda Sarsour supports Sharia, but empowers honour killings, headscarves, and FGM by giving it a free pass. As a feminist, it is expected of her to raise concerns about it, but she doesn’t. She does not openly and unabashedly support it, so Ponti is technically wrong.

But for goodness sake, she was literally handing out bloody headscarves - at a “feminist” rally!?!

Just as she and her identity politics fans have never joined Iranian dissident Masih Alinejad in her campaigns against compulsory hijab in the Islamic Republic, or backed exiled Saudi women's activist Moudhi Aljohani in her push to stop Riyadh's enslavement of women, they are not standing against the deadly Islamic ideology of purity and honour that provides context and clues to the motives of the suicide bomb attack in Manchester.

They brandish their veils as a standard-bearer of liberation and speak out when veiled women are harassed or attacked, however there is little or no solidarity when victims are not hijabis.
This week, for example, when two brothers were acquitted in Turkey of helping the "honour killing" of their sister in Berlin because she refused to wear a hijab and dated a German boy, the homegirls were nowhere to be seen.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Under fire for her virulent anti-Israel stance, claims "Zionists can't be feminists", and support for convicted terrorists, Ms Sarsour has instead presented herself as a victim of a far-right campaign of vilification after her opponents protested against her speaking at a graduation ceremony at a New York university this week.

    ...
For the Manchester-based doctor and writer on Middle East issues, Egyptian feminist Nervana Mahmoud, there is a symbiotic relationship between Islamists and liberal western leftists.

"Islamists need a wider platform to help them legitimise their existence in western society, while liberal leftists need new pawns in their fight against the radical right," Ms Mahmoud told me.

"Islamists, like Linda Sarsour and others, deliberately conceal the controversial aspects of their ideology, specifically the common values they share with violent radicals such as the virgin/whore dichotomy.
"Unfortunately the liberal elite prefers to avoid scrutinising Islamists on those controversial aspects, and prefers to deflect the matter as a 'cultural' issue.
"Liberal Muslims are an inconvenience, and are thus ignored by both sides."

When Sarsour was selected to deliver a commencement speech at the City University of New York (CUNY) in June 2017, there was strong opposition from some conservatives.[10][37]Dov Hikind, a Democratic Party state assemblyman in New York, sent Governor Andrew Cuomo a letter objecting to the choice, signed by 100 Holocaustsurvivors.[10][41] Hikind's objection was based on Sarsour's previously having spoken alongside Rasmea Odeh, who was convicted by an Israeli court for taking part in a bombing that killed two civilians in 1969.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

"Linda Sarsour is promoting Sharia law and misleading Americans," Rabia Kazan, a best-selling author and president of the Middle Eastern Women's Coalition, told PJ Media on Friday. "She never mentions child marriage, genital mutilation, or honor killings."

"She's empowering their side, not us," Kazan said. "She's encouraging these barbaric people. She's encouraging them and contributing to them, to women being sold and girls being raped everyday."

The Middle Eastern Women's Coalition will endorse President Donald Trump for 2020 on Tuesday...

..."How many of us have to die?" she asked. "How many of us have to be raped before you take an action? Silence is killing us and President Trump is speaking."...

..."Shame on her. All the child brides and all honor killing victims, genital mutilation victims shame Linda Sarsour," the Middle Eastern Women's Coalition president declared. "She has done nothing for us."

However some like Sarsour think Sharia is a-ok.

Stop Pretending The 'Anti-Sharia' Movement Has Anything To Do With Empowering Women

Muslim women assure they don't need saving.

The organization’s stated intent of “protecting” the country from Sharia law betrays a basic misunderstanding about what Sharia actually is, as well as the tireless work of Muslim activists to end practices like FGM in the U.S.

    Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, founder of
MuslimGirl.com, said even the term “anti-Sharia” is little more than coded language for anti-Muslim bigotry. This rhetoric, she said, “motivates acts of hatred” against Muslim women.

“We are still reeling from the news of two Muslim children being harassed on public transportation when three non-Muslim allies intervened to their defense and had their throats slashed,” she said. “For ACT for America to claim that they have Muslim women’s best interest at heart is not even ironically humorous, it’s just perverse.”

Scholar and activist Donna Auston posed a fundamental question.

“Who gets to determine what Muslim women’s best interests are ― actual Muslim women, or known proponents of rhetoric and policies which do considerable harm to the lives of Muslim women in the U.S. and around the globe?” she said.

“I don’t need anyone to speak for me ― especially persons who do not have a fundamental respect for my humanity and my autonomy ― and neither does any other Muslim woman,” Auston said. “We speak for ourselves.”

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
What an irony, Linda Sarsour is talking about women`s rights which are “violated” by Zionists.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
To be more specific she has told that: "Support for feminism and Zionism are incompatible."

Moreover, Linda, doesn’t say the fact that for instance, in Syria girls as young as 12 have been married by force…. It is called: Pedophilia.

Linda does not say that in Saudi Arabia women are banned from driving.
Linda does not say that rape is not recognized as crime, so the victim may be stoned to death.

Linda “cares” so much for the women`s rights that she did not talk about “honor killings” which had occurred even in Palestine. I guess, she could not blame Israel about it, so the lives of those women are not important to mention.

Linda did not mention acid attacks or that in some countries husband is allowed to cut off a nose to his wife. Hence, again, lives of those women are not worth to mention according to Linda`s “value criteria”.

She does not say that Palestinian people elected Hamas which is terrorist organisation and violets all possible human rights, using kids as shield, disrespecting women.

On LBTQ rights, Linda Sarsour is no ally
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I discovered that Linda does not raise the flag of LGBTQ rights, or any other human rights for that matter, in the Muslim world. I even found that she is sympathetic to the way women are treated in Saudi Arabia, saying that the Saudis put Americans to shame when it comes to women’s rights. In Saudi Arabia, it is important to remember, women are not allowed to drive cars or leave the house without the permission of a man. I found no record of her criticizing Muslim countries for their abhorrent abuses of human rights.

Perhaps Linda does not believe in criticizing other countries, one might wonder. Maybe she prefers to focus her efforts in bettering American society. Her deafening silence possibly stems from a profound respect of countries’ sovereignty. Scrolling through Linda’s
Twitter account quickly disproves this thesis. There actually is a country that is the frequent subject for Linda’s attacks and criticism. A country that she feels deserves boycotts and sanctions. And that country is Israel, the only country in the area that grants human rights to its citizens. That is the fight that Linda is disingenuously committed to.

I was deeply dispirited to hear about a self-proclaimed social justice warrior that sacrifices the LGBTQ cause on the altar of extremist Islamic interpretation. I was appalled by the hypocrisy of a leader who abandons millions of women, while relentlessly attacking the one country in the Middle East neighborhood that sanctifies women’s rights, Israel. It is shocking to me that she ignores all the good that is represented by Israel, including Arab citizens of Israel who serve in the Knesset, in the army and even in the supreme court. It would appear that hatred of the world’s only Jewish country has blinded her to the oasis of freedom that Israel is to the LGBTQ community

Why do Muslim Feminists turn a blind eye to Islamist Misogyny?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
et as American Muslim Reform Movement co-founder Asra Nomani argued in Women in the World last week, the concert-goers were also seen by jihadists as "dangerous", unveiled women.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Some radical conservative Muslim men and women agreed.

For example, a group Ms Nomani calls the "hijabi honour brigade", who operate as mini-armies of trolls on social networks in an organised campaign to silence critics of Islam, even post-attack suggested the young girls were asking for it — as were their parents who had no business letting them stay out late.

Or as one veil-wearing French woman declared on Twitter, girls as young as eight were targeted because they had been encouraged by Grande to dress "like whores" and dared to go out after dark in a sign of "decadence and deviance".

"It wasn't just about killing women, it was about killing the image of women," Ms Raflik wrote in Le Monde.
"It is above all the image of the western, emancipated woman that is being aimed at here — through the targeting of these young women who represent innocence and at the same time the discovery of their identity and a consciousness of their femininity."

In New York, however, self-described Palestinian-American-Muslim political activist Linda Sarsour — a defender of Sharia law and Saudi Arabia's record on women — kept her social media reactions to a minimum: about a generically "evil" terrorist attack on "kids having a good time" — not young girls and women.

Ms Sarsour, who wears a Salafist-approved veil that conceals all her hair and ties up tightly under her neck, once said she wished she could "take the vagina away" of staunch critic of Islamic theology and women's rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Ms Ali, along with another critic, "didn't deserve to be women", said Ms Sarsour, who is the head of the Arab American Association of New York.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
At the Chicago conference, Sarsour will be joined by a who’s who of America’s most fringe Islamist preachers, including:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Imam Omar Suleiman, a gay-bashing imamwho has endorsed honor killings, the act of murdering a family member for her allegedly inappropriate behavior to restore “honor” within the community or household.

Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Hamas-tied Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a U.S.-based group that was founded to build support for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States. Awad has previously declared that he is “in support of the Hamas movement,” which remains a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. The UAE recently listed CAIR itself as a terrorist organization.

Mazen Mokhtar, who was identified in a federal affidavit as the individual behind a website to raise funds for the Taliban and Chechen terrorists.

The groups that combined to host the confab share an extremist, anti-American agenda.

In a major terrorism financing case, federal prosecutors labeled the Muslim American Society (MAS) as an “overt arm” of the Muslim Brotherhood, a global Islamist organization that seeks to impose the primitive and barbaric Sharia law and a global Islamic caliphate.

The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) also has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Terrorism analyst Yehudit Barsky has described the group as a network “composed of members of Jamaat e-Islami, a Pakistani Islamic radical organization similar to the Muslim Brotherhood that helped to establish the Taliban.”

Kyle Shideler, director of the Counter-Islamist Grid, an initiative of the Middle East Forum, spoke to Conservative Review about Sarsour’s activism. “Linda Sarsour’s antisemitism and support for Islamist causes have never been more apparent. Her relationships with progressive groups have exploded thanks to her role in hijacking the Women’s March, and her Islamist ties have been outed not just in niche media, but in mainstream and even international publications,” Shideler tells CR. “That MAS-ICNA still wants her to speak is a reminder that they are a group founded by Islamists for Islamists. Groups that align with them do so at their own peril.”

She (Sarsour) said that women who complain about FGM should have their vaginas taken away, that they shouldn't be allowed to be women. She was specifically talking about Ayaan Hirsi Ali, an ex-Muslim (who basically has to live in hiding, because leaving the religion of peace is a death sentence) who was a victim of FGM and now campaigns against it.

I have to say, organizational failure highlighted in the title is hardly beyond what can be attributed to amateurism inherent in small town committees (the Eureka group). And why are nbcnews trying to broaden the scope by bringing up a multitude of other organizations that are unaffiliated and in the news for totally different reasons?

Because if don't make this a national issue, then people will start empowering colored women at the expense of all other groups.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a privileged person who lied about being persecuted , posing as a refugee to get a Dutch passport. Shouldn't you be scraming for her to be deported? No because she isn't in hiding at all, she makes a living entertaining 'phobes and racists. I'm going to call you out on the Sarsour comment. You made that up. My understanding was that she said Ali didn't deserve to be a woman because she is an . The exact quote is 'Brigitte Gabriel = Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She’s asking 4 an a$$ whippin’. I wish I could take their vaginas away- they don’t deserve to be women' Note Brigitte Gabriel, to my knowledge has all her bits intact, but like Ali is a virtilent Islamophobe. I would agree that it was a bit insensitive given Ali's gynaecological history, but feck it, she's an apologist for racists.

This would seem to be a lie.I put it to you that the very idea that anyone would advocate that someone wishes to impose Sharia law on America is retarded, if only because it's not relevant to non-muslims who form the vast majority of Americans.

I'm guessing that if TWC members dig deeper everything said about this woman will be found to be so much bs. At a glance the only causes I can find her promoting are Black Lives Matter, the Women's March and Palestine. I know Republicans may have issues with all 3 causes. I doesn't mean that they can't argue their case in a reasonable and truthful manner. If you want to smear random feminists lthat just undermines your pussy-grabbing cause. Let's see proper and verifiable sources

Eureka is ing loony so I am not surprised by this at all.

It's idiotic and against their own interests but it doesn't affect me one way or another.
