For people that have issues with CTDs at launch, this may or may not help you:

I went as far as to get an old school RTW-Alx copy, I played around preferences to make sure only Alex formations are there(and that the preferences are copied into the Play_One_Turn_Folder).

But I am 90% sure what fixed the CTD at launch is that I deleted the rvm. file as in the bloody OP, which I somehow missed.

Though I am still not sure was that the cause of CTDs for RSII 2.5/2.6, and I am almost positive that I did not delete .rvm for my RSIII which works fine on Steam.

Correct, nothing to do with 2.5/2.6 or 3.1.

So when I launch up the Play_One_Turn campaign through the RSII launcher the game launches vanilla Rome Total War. I've got it set to launch Alexander with the Alex EXE in the launcher too which is strange... any ideas?

Looks like you did not click on the "delete rwm" tab on the launcher interface, you must do this on 1st time before playing to reset map or get ctd.

i use bat file to launch this mod
i even delete map.rwm file myself everytime before you tell me about this.

yes, i tried both things. bat and shortcut. and yes too. i added patch 01

but i dont know why it crash

if you installed a working rs 2.6 version, wwc must work, as it is simply a new one turn campaign folder....nothing else....for steam i got no idea, as i never used it....

Hi Saul Tyre I have a favor to ask of you...again. Long story short over a year ago I was having trouble getting RSIII to work for me on Steam and you sent me the whole setup and it worked. Now I've been at trying to get RSII v2.6 to work so I can try out WWC 1.1 like you have been doing yourself on your newest playthrough which has me very intrigued. Once again I've been at it for hours literally and keep getting errors or other problems with one thing or another. Would you mind helping out a fellow Total War lover one more time please? Thank you in advance.

Yes, I use Steam, Windows 10-64bit, as far as I know, I have followed the installation instructions corrections but then I would believe that would I not

I do not use steam so I cannot help very much if that is the issue. Did you delete map.rwm on the launcher interface before starting 1st time? do you start game from shortcut/ desktop icon?
