sorry for the delay [problems on the server]

there are two well established factions of venice and silicy [effectivelly eastern and western roman empires ]

there is also egypt [although undeveloped and under attack by the turks]

and also the bzantine empire [reduced to one area and under attack by venice which are available]

so as i said before i recommend either venice or silicy for a place

Going to comment on this since I can just feel an argument breaking out, you should check only one faction first, because as much as it's logical to want to pick the stronger one it isn't advised from the admins perspective. Since the factions are neighbours, you could just attack the one you didn't choose and have an insane advantage since you could check what both exactly have and where.

That's rather off-topic, the relevant topic here is quite simple, and Mergor did a great job of explaining it. Which faction would you rather take?

its been three days since the last turn , thus i will wait till tommorow and if themr doesnt respond , i will perhaps assume he is still undecided , and will sub venice and silciy for now , to get things moving again , for the moment

Sorry for the delayed response. I do not think i will end up taking either of the two factions. I saw this hotseat was in need of some help. I tried to do a nice thing and offer to take one of the factions and the initial reaction of the admin was far more insulting and rude than necessary. I don't believe such treatment was warranted, much less from a member of GS. I wish the rest of the hotseaters here good luck, and want to apologize for the part I played in delaying it.

A shame themzr, because I tried to diffuse a possible argument before it even started, but you only concentrated on Athelstan. Something minor as this shouldn't get in a way of a good hotseat.
