    Default Mod will not start.

Hi guys, I recently had to delete my med 2(and all the mods in it) and simply bought the steam Definitive edition and I'm in the process of getting my mods back. However I've had a little problem with this mod as whenever I try to start it it just sends me to the original game as if the mod wasn't even there. Can you guys help me?

Ok guys gonna give you an update.... I managed to do it WOOOT!

The only thing I've managed to do that worked was to rename the expanded americas mod into one of the kingdom mod files (need to change the name of said kingdom file)

I've also tried the mod installer in gigantus's guide but it just opened a black window for less than a second then closed and doesn't even appear in my my medieval folder.

I am actually having the same problem. I know its been a while but if you remember what you did, could you elaborate on your solution?

Hi, I have installed the mod today... and it works fine...
    How I did it:
install the part 1 in to the mods folder and then the part 2 isntall in to the new created expanded_americas_3.3 BUT INTO THE DATA SUBFOLDER WHICH IS IN the expanded_americas_3.3 folder.....(medieval 2 total war/mods/expanded_americas_3.3/data
and then you should be fine...
    Hope it helps.
    Take care.

This should help: Creating a World - Starting Steam mods the easy way

Otherwise follow michalbar's instructions for installation.

    Thank you.

    I edited medieval2.expanded_americas3_3.bat file
renamed exe file from kingdoms to medieval2

    My bat file

    cd ..\..
    medieval2.exe @mods\expanded_americas3.3\medieval2.expanded_americas3_3.cfg
Game launched, tested some battles in custom battles mode.
    Continue testing in Grand Campaign

Didn't know it was a pre-kingdoms mod with the medieval2 executable in the BAT file instead of kingdoms.exe

My guide basically tells you to copy medieval2 (steam only has that one) and then rename the copy to kingdoms (the disk has this one, too) - that is for all the kingdoms mods out there. You should still arrange that you have both file names present in the main directory in case you decide to play a kingdoms mod later.

NEVER edit Steam's launch option in the library (right click game on there, choose properties to access it), it should be empty, creates all sort of mess otherwise.
