Nice feedback on the battle Sarkiss![]()
You can have the units cards also sliding but, at least for me, it works better if you have them permanent. Good to see one of your videos with the minimal ui, it improves a lot the quality!

As far as 1 goes, have a try of the new formation-labels in the dev build - it might address some of that since it's distinguising between "skirmishing" and "artillery" archers. Given changes to other unit labels, it might impact 2 as well.
sadly, i never managed to get dev build to work. its good to hear some tweaks were made, though to be fair the issue isnt EB specific. i recall seeing the same behaviour in vanilla where unit would stop half way into the charge then turn around and retreat exposing its vulnerable rear to my fire.
thanks. the sliding takes some getting used to. i will probably keep radar on slide but enable the buttons on the top since that part of the screen isnt clickable anyway and it keeps popping out randomly whenever camera is moved forward, it seems.
btw, aside from the UI's units, buttons and the radar options, there is another, forth control. any ideas what thats for? i forgot what its called but could never figure what it does (it offers the same show-hide-slide options).
Kretan Archers have skirmish mode on; not sure what happened there, could be due to placement.
#12, Battle of Hellespontos, 321 BC - the first actual battle between the successors:
i think next time i'll pause the battle at the very beginning to explain the troop deployment when it matters. it was a decisive factor in the outcome of this engagement but i thought of doing it too late
it may be rather confusing to distinguish who is who during this turbulent period and there is an good book by Waldemar Heckel that covers just that (for those with serious interest in the subject): Who's Who in the Age of Alexander the Great: Prosopography of Alexander's Empire
Hey man enjoying the videos. The other Hot Key with the UI is ctrl + f2 key. This Removes the Unit Name and Status. So that way your cursor wont bring up that small box where it says they are steady or routing.
interesting, thanks, will try it out.
glad you enjoy my ramble. as far as battles are concerned, the AI is a real stumbling block here, unfortunately. its still great that the EB's historical battles series allow for these stories to be explored in a sort of educational format. if i had the time to dedicate to learning software i'd go for creating a mini series on successor wars etc with proper and extensive story telling.
here is the Battle of Aitolia, 321 BC (and i think i forgot to mention the Exiles Decree)
on unrelated note, anyone tried this indie game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/7..._Ancient_Rome/
apparently its supposed to be quite in-depth. its 40% off atm. worth buying?
I must admit, your commentary of the people and events is more interesting than the battles!
That game seems quite fun Sarkiss. Even the reviews are mostly positive. Despite having a more "basic" user interface, it seems what Imperator Rome should have been...
another episode of 'Events after Alexander', Battle of Thessalia, 321 BC:
Having issues with my OBS Studio, it wont start recording stating that I need to update drivers and such. tried to look for solution online to no avail. if anyone knows how to fix this please do share. for now i was pretty much forced to use GeForce Experience and Im not too sure it is an adequate alternative. also experimenting with a new headset with a built-in mic so apologies if audio isnt great.

Became a follower, great content with a different and very interesting take!
Keep them coming.
A missions-driven Baktrian playthrough based on the latest iteration of EBII (2.35)
Nice work on this first foray into Baktria! I wonder about how you are going to deal with the Saka (and Pahlava to a lesser extent). they are always a frustrating foe to fight regardless of what faction you play (Especially with their tendency to horde when deprived of all of their settlements). I really look forward to the day when Baktria puts her foot down and draw the line with her Seleukidai overlords.
To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.

tbh imho Baktria is well equipped to deal with them, having access to excellent spearmen archers and horse archers, not to mention their good cavalry roster. but we shall see, i may be overestimating it (or myself)![]()
yes please. honestly, it is complex enough with all the different govt types, recruitment buildings etc. the more user-friendly it is the better.
mission 2 is up:
I wonder sometimes if Baktria's "opening crawl" should mention that the Seleukids are their conduit for Hellenistic colonists, which is why they shouldn't be so quick to reject the tribute and go to war with them right away?
