Default [Artifex] Leonardo (Patron: General Brewster)

Patron's part Right Honorable Sir's and Ladies of the Curia,

Today I put forth Leonardo, someone who's been named after the renacence's greatest minds(or at least I better hope so.) A man, or woman, or something inbetween, who resides in the snowy lands of Southern Sweden, where knäckebröd is his daily breakfast as he's off to wrestle bears, bears I tell you!

To be frank, good ol Leonardo here has put great effort into his application and has made my part a little redundant. Nevertheless I will tell you, Right honorable citizens of TWC that Leonardo is the kind of person we want as citizen. First off, he's a modder, not only of TW games but also of others! Whom he so kindly posted on TWC to share it with our great community. How cool is that? Very cool. Second off, he's a helpful member. Showing us some good old esprit de corps Leonardo will rarely be found not to be helpful on the board. From helping people with bugs in ETW, to helping and joining the Modding Staff. If anything Leonardo deserves an A for effort.

As some of you will notice, some links in his part are to other site's. Whilst offsite material does not count as a contribution to TWC, it does show that Leonardo has the character traits to be a good citizen. A workhorse, a friendly member and someone who's not to shy away from offer help. Citizens I would advise you to take a good look at Leonardo, and if it suits you, grant him the honor of becoming a TWC Citizen.

Now I shall leave you with... otters.

    Signed, waxed and sealed,
    General Brewster.

    Applicant's part
    Greetings!

So, the special moment most members on TWC wish to happen, happened to me the other day when a Citizen approached me and asked me "Ever felt something for TWC Citizenship?". I said, "Yes, I have." and now we are gathered here to examine my application for Citizenship. Before I continue I would like to thank General Brewster to become my parton and for presenting my application in front of the Curia.

    Now, something about myself.

I have played Total War games since 2001/2002 when I bought the Medieval TW - Gold Edition and came home just to install then start a new campaign. After I watched the intro and picked a faction and did what I wanted to do in my first turn I was hooked forever.

Then almost 10 years later I joined TWC in March 2011, mostly for looking around for mods, but also wanted to get help for a mod issue or two.

In April/May 2011 Fliggerty, the owner and founder of the Great House Fliggerty (GHF), approached me and asked if I was interested to become the first Senior Curator for the Morrowind Modding History (MMH) staff, called Stewards, and I said yes. The primarily task I had as a Senior Curator was to sort out the mods in the Unprocessed section (it was a lot more mods there in 2011 than it's today), but also in the same time coordinate the work with the other Stewards.

However, my time in MMH was short, too short I think, since it was decided from the beginning that my position as a Senior Curator was temporarily not permanent. Because Fliggerty had other plans for me, but nothing of that become a reality due to both RL and other reasons for both of us.

Later in 2011, I visit the Empire TW Workshop for the first time and notice how much modding knowledge husserlTW had and at the same time he was also friendly and helpful to anyone he meet. Sadly, my chances to learn how to mod from a modder with experience vanished when husserlTW announced his retirement from the modding scene in late 2013. Despite that I tried and actually manage to create a small mod, a bug fix for something that annoyed me a lot in Empire TW.

I have since then tried to help other members with their mod issues they had with husserlTW's mods as you can see here and here on TWC, read this and this thread. I also provided support on The Assimilation Lab after husserlTW granted me permission to mirror his modding work there, which also include the modding work with the same permission I got from DARTH VADER.

Later, after I mirrored husserlTW's and DARTH VADER's mods on TAL, I became a staff member on TAL for three years.

I guess modding TW games in a large scale is out of question, so what other contributions are we talking about here. I am an active modder for the Skyrim Special Edition (SSE) and earlier this year 2018, I released the 1.8 version for my Skyrim Map Markers mod and an update for that mod is finished only need to test it in-game. I also released two other mods, one mod is sort of an addon of my Skyrim Map Markers mod and the other mod is for Morrowind, which also was part of a Modding Competition in May 2018 and the only site it is hosted aside from GHF is TWC.

I was also part of the Implentation of Modding Staff group before it became a separate staff branch on TWC in November 2018, and still is a staff member of the Modding Staff. My current staff duty is to make TWC Download more appealing than it has ever been before and here is an example of what I mean.
The first two links is about how it looks today before I started to get it more cleaner and the last one is the result.

There is a couple of posts I would like to include in my application and let each Citizen form their own judgement when reading these posts.

He was a dependable, reliable member of the team, cheerful and friendly to everyone. In addition to his work for the News team, he also frequently provided help to people around TWC wherever and whenever he could, and I know he's continued to do that since leaving the News team.

More recently, Leonardo has been involved in work on TWC Download. I'll leave any detailed comments to people better qualified to talk about it, but I've seen the energy and commitment he has poured into that work. I know he will offer those same qualities to TWC in any capacity he holds here.

I believe Leonardo is an excellent candidate for Citizenship.

If you don’t believe me - check his posts and the results (in many) of his posts, efforts and attention to detail - first hand. ...It’s a fact. And folks, it has been that way for long enough...

In my view, this assembly is now faced with a choice... You can either recognize that fact and grant him an over due citizenship - as a small token of appreciation and recognition for the services rendered (thus far). Or... You can decide to disregard that fact, and in doing so, shrink to some shameful charlatans who can not afford him even that recognition. The choice is yours...

For me, it is an easy choice and I will support Leonardo all the way. This assembly should do too.

    Thank you for your time,

This is an interesting one. Non TW mostly but I like the idea of encouraging non TW mods here.

I have used his map markers mod in the distant past I believe. Therefore I can safely support this.

Well, what seemed like ages ago, GB came to me on Steam and ask my opinion of Leo. I said, what are you waiting for? (paraphrasing). I am glad to see this application finally has arrived.

The staff work is very new and only in the last few weeks. He is a very energetic and determined individual. Like myself, he is fully committed to making TWC a place for modders can do anything and everything here. We have had many great discussions about the site and how to make better for all modders. From the beginning with the Modding Staff, he has worked passionately and diligently. There was a lot of work to do and he has done more than his fair share. But I should stress, I thought he was deserving of citizenship long before the Modding Staff. He has always provided insight from his personal experience on how TWC can be better. His work with Modding Staff is the perfect outlet.

In my experience Leonardo is consistently helpful, for example by making many helpful posts for people wanting to use the Empire Total Factions mod (for Empire Total War) and in his staff work, previously in Content News and recently in Modding Staff. I see Leonardo as someone who quietly and patiently keeps working for the benefit of others, without fuss or fanfare - and as someone whose contributions deserve recognition.

    I support his application too.
