Certainly I could have gotten myself deeply involved in the Curia politics like gig, garb, mim, imb, and so forth and won favor through that manner while using my moderator badge merely as a symbol of higher status. If you want to be in HEX, you have to be curial, period.

That certainly makes sense, as being a civitate is/was a requirement to be a moderator, and most (all?) of Hex was promoted from a moderating position.

Yes, we can all do what we want. We want to fight what's going on. Just as ON can choose to remove admins. Did you complain when they excersized their right, as you are doing when we excersize ours?

no im not forgetting that at all, as I said...im just recognizing my own mistakes, not excusing H&G's. Besides, none of that looks like itll matter much anymore since it was really ogresnet transgression, and people are negotiating to part ways with them as we speak...the easy way or the hard way. So it looks like things will be getting better very soon, theres not much reason to stay mad anymore. Soon enough H&G will be gone and the right people will be in control again.

has the damage already been done? in large amounts, no doubt...but flowers bloom from dirt and the prospects seem hopeful, at least for today.

We have seen Besim off 6 weks ago, we saw Archer off 12 weeks ago when he demoted all the staff. But HG is just something else...

I have given loads of positive reputation to Gaius lately because I value the work he is doing the discredit and humiliate all those that support this administration. We're in a bizarro world of reputation, it seems!

What made TWC great - basically the trust. We all worked together, helped each other, trusted each other and considered the site more important than the individual.

Both of those concepts have been totally destroyed. I no longer have any trust in either you or ON.

If you want the site to flourish I would propose:

All current admins/staff resign
Previous staff reinstated (except me, I was serious when I said I haven't the time at the moment to be in staff - see, that's how it works , the site is more important than my having a nice shiny badge)
ON then hand over TWC to the new Hex staff (like Ogre has said in his post he wants to)
TWC then goes forward from where it was last weekend when we in Hex elected imb/El Cid as the imperator.

even then though, I seriously think that TWC as a brand may be fatally damaged by all the stupidity and maneuvering you and ON have carried out over the last 3 months - certainly I doubt the modding community trust TWC. I think it may be better to start again, and maybe point the TWC URL at another site.

Anyway, that is my thoughts as a long-serving Hex/Consul/Curia member.

Horsearchers just trying to help us out. Sure theres problems with the site at the moment but they arn't his fault.

I agree though that things should be put right.

Perhaps if people are genuinely concerned with changing TWC then maybe the unfair bans throughout the site should be overturned?

But seriously, TWC is a fine forum, and always have been. The problems being cited now are part of the forum’s very structure and likely always will be. If anybody challenges this assessment then they are free to hunt through my own posts of the past couple of years where you shall discover me, nostradamus-like, unveiling it all. Shameless self-promotion, backstabbing, breaking the rules and moderators behaving more morally bankrupt than Bush is just what comes with the territory. And it is no different today except that nobody like Archer is around to win the power struggle. All the site currently has leadership wise are a handful of good moderators that have either quit or are planning to quit in the near future or some ancient clueless bastards still squabbling among themselves, but blaming everybody else.

But all that said it’s a really good site! It’s the potential for self-promotion and power struggle that makes it all fun and worthwhile! It’s an insanely inefficient way to run a forum but an immensely unique and fun way, and should be protected. There’s some worth in it.

Anyway, good luck with that.
