Getting a new Hamer guitar... wanna help me choose???

I've been playing Fenders and Jacksons for a while now and I've recently played a Hamer guitar and it was like nothing I've ever experienced! The action was amazing, the fretboard was lightning-fast and the electronics... woah... I'm definetely getting a Hamer for my next guitar. The question is, which one?

The Standard - The body-shape is awesome AND functional, it's PERFECTLY balanced.


The Vector - Recaptures the classic look of the Flying-V and it's a great guitar overall.


The Californian - Classical body-shape, 24 frets, multiple pick-up options.


The Scarab - Very aggressive shape and tone, PERFECTLY balanced, incredible sustain.

Rick Nielson played and plays a Hamer standard...although he hotrodded the hell out of it.

the standard is what i think motorheads guitarist plays.

i would do with vector because i like flying Vs.

i think the scarab looks the coolest.
i just ordered..an encore les paul......cheap and cheerful!

how long have you been learing to play guitar?

I'd say The Californian myself, partly on the aesthetic level (I'm not a fan of spiky guitars ) 24 frets and the varied pickups are both always useful. I only have 22 frets on mine, and its always been a pain.

hmmm, it's best that you try all guitars before buying, but i would buy the californian

Hey guys, sorry it took me so long to respond...busy at work for the past few days. I'm probably gonna buy one now and another in a few months or so... I've got quite a bit of money that's DYING to be spent. I'll probably "indulge" myself with the Standard now, then in a few months time (perhaps during the summer) I'll get a Vector. Then some other time the Cali, then the Scarab... I fully plan on owning all 4 of these beauties at some point in the distant future.

Oh and sorry, I forget who it was who asked how long I've been playing... it's 11:30PM so I'm tired and too lazy to check. Just about 5 years now.

So hunter, you're a big fan of the good 'ol Vs too eh? We can both agree that THIS is the ULTIMATE V... god what I would do to touch this guitar!

K.K. Downing, you are my hero...

btw hunter, how's the guitar coming along? And please don't tell me you quit!

I'm more of a Fan of the Vector and Californian myself. Though the standard looks nice, like a Gibson Firebird. Besides, you could play some mean blues or metal on the vector...

Flying V guiatrs are awesome, but they are just so expensive!

I love the Rhoads... great guitar! But it just doesn't compare with K.K. Downing's Hamer Mini - V. Just LOOK at the thing it's got the coolest body design, and he added studs to it! LOL!!! As if he doesn't have enough already! God K.K. Downing, you really are the coolest guy in the world! In a way I'm glad that Judas Priest didn't release their custom-shop guitars to the public, they wouldn't be as cool if they were available to the public.
