Roman Army School, Durham, 2019

Next year's Roman Army School will be held at St Chad's College, Durham between Saturday 30th March and Monday 1st April 2019. The theme will be Roman Artillery and Sieges and preliminary details may be found on the Roman Army School website (https://www.ad43.org.uk/conference.php). Those who might wish to attend would probably be well-advised to register on the mailing list in order to get the earliest opportunity to book on the course.

I've read in the programme you will discuss the Roman siege warfare, so thinking about ancient machines and tecniques, I would be very interested in understanding something more about the "Emboloi" (if I'm not wrong it was their name) depicted on Trajan Column and pretty mysterious from my point of view, I really don't understand how could they work ..

For those who wanted to attend but missed the deadline for booking of the 24th December, there are still a few places available and the final closing deadline has been extended to midnight on the 28th February.
